Cerussite - snowflake twinned crystal
stock #23.1-357
Nakhlak Mine, Madan-e Nakhlak, Anarak Dist., Nain Co.
Isfahan Province, Iran
3.9 x 3.2 x 2.8 CM (miniature)
price: $350
Spring 23

Excellent condition reticulated twin Cerussite crystals in classic snowflake form. Sixling crystals radiate from a central stalk and are in impressive condition for this delicate mineral. This find from about 5 years ago produced many pieces but a high percentage had damaged edges. This is far better than the usual in the find and there seems to be no more found in a few years. A fine value for esthetics and condition.

Mimetite - two generations
stock #15.1-439
Chah Milleh Mine, Anarak Dist., Nain Co.
Esfahan Province, Iran
4.7 x 2.5 x 2.3 CM (miniature)
price: $130
Early summer 2021

A small, colorful Mimetite from the artisanal specimen mining at the very old Chah Milleh Mine. Two distinct generations of Mimetite are seen with the older larger masses a bright red-orange and the newer are small blobs and crystals in a bright yellow. Close exam show that there were at one time bladed crystals of Wulfenite which are now gone, leaving some hollow casts in their shape. A nice, affordable and attractive Lead secondary from a classic locality.

Wulfenite with Calcite, Plattnerite and Mimetite
stock #AX-31-074
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
6.3 x 3.6 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $1550
new year 2021

A superb and complex specimen of Wulfenite from the important find of 2018 in Yazd Province, Iran. The Wulfenite crystals are quite large for this find, up to 2.8 CM across. These are now partly coated by White Calcite and dusted with tiny black crystals of Plattnerite and a few small Mimetites. The Wulfenites from this ancient Lead mine are unique in the world, the forms and associations are different from any others. This is in remarkably fine condition as very few were so intact. The form is quite sculptural and the complexity adds a lot of visual interest. An excellent addition to any suite of Wulfenites or Lead minerals.

Wulfenite with Calcite
stock #AX-31-066
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
6.2 x 5.1 x 3.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $1100
new year 2021

Very thin, delicate crystals of yellow Wulfenite with some orange centers. Small balls of white Calcite are scattered on these blades and in some cases there are tiny lines of crystals on the edges of the Wulfenites. In fine condition, despite the obvious fragility all of the main crystals and most of the small ones are perfect and undamaged. This is from the unusual discovery at a small, ancient lead mine in Yazd Province, Iran. The crystals have several habits and are both pointed and with flat edges. The color in person is quite vivid. This was an important find and the Wulfenites were huge mineral news when these emerged, these are unlike any others ever discovered. This piece is far above the average quality and choice for the locale.

Willemite ps. after Descloizite with Mimetite and Cerussite
stock #15.1-553
Chah Milleh Mine, Anarak Dist., Nain Co.
Esfahan Province, Iran
7.2 x 6 x 5.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $560
new year 2021

The find of Iranian Descloizites that are altered to Willemite and Cerussite was huge news in the mineral world. The find was short lived but from it came some incredible things like this. The structure shows typical Descloizite stacked crystals and herringbone patterns that have completely altered to Willemite. The structures are sprinkled with hundreds of tiny yellow-orange gemmy Mimetite crystals. Several faces are also covered with a late generation of Cerussite crystals in a multitude of habits. Nothing like this has ever been found any place else and it seems there are no more. This piece is in fine condition, undamaged and a complete floater. Displays well from most any angle and is really incredible under magnification; this is loaded with outstanding tiny crystals.

Cerussite -reticulated
stock #20.1-182
Nakhlak Mine, Madan-e Nakhlak, Anarak Dist., Nain Co.
Esfahan Province, Iran
4.3 x 3.9 x 3.7 CM (miniature)
price: $290
Spring 2020

Interconnected reticulated twins of smokey color Cerussite showing fine classic form. The crystal twins are all in perfect parallel position and aligned in stacks showing the geometric precision of a snowflake. The Nakhlak Mine had a major find of Cerussites about 2 years ago, the better pieces showed this quality of form and condition. This is more or less a floater, complete on all sides, no real points of attachment. From many angles this is quite perfect, undamaged but on close inspection the backside and edge have some very minor contacts/chips best seen with magnification. Given how delicate the mineral is this is incredible. Until this find any Cerussite of this quality would be far more costly, easily in the 1-2K range, but enough were found that these are now very reasonable in costs while they last.

Fluorite with Barite
stock #20.1-120
Komshejeh Mine, Komshejeh, Ardestan County
Esfahan Province, Iran
6.7 x 6.2 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $450
Spring 2020

Zoned cubes of Fluorite with complex stepped etching on most faces in an attractive cluster from Iran. The associated bright white Barite blades adds a nice contrast. The Fluorite is mostly a blue color with a violet to pink core best seen in the largest crystal. Some color change is noted under different light sources. In very good condition as seen. Not much Fluorite from Iran makes it to the western mineral markets, this specimen is especially attractive and reminds us of the structure of some Spanish Fluorite but is clearly different on close exam.

Wulfenite
stock #15.1-541
Chah Milleh Mine, Anarak Dist., Nain Co.
Esfahan Province, Iran
3.3 x 1.9 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $95
Worldwide mix summer

A cute thumbnail of the orange-red Wulfenites from the 2015 find in Iran. These crystals are remarkably similar to Red Cloud mine Wulfenites but the matrix is a little more complex and has many tiny Wulfenites with different habits. The main Wulfenite is contacted/ chipped on its bottom edge so this is not for a perfectionist but the contact is where this would sit and so is not visible under most display conditions. The price reflects this. Good color, transparency and sharpness.
