The Jeffrey mine once produced what many think were the most attractive Vesuvianites ever. We have manage to obtain a small suite of fine pieces at a reasonable price, these are presented here. This is a far beyond average cabinet specimen of bright, glass like crystals. Great color intensity, good condition and overall impact, this jumps out of a display! Overall in fine condition, there are some very minor contacts that are not visible from most viewing angles.
A supurb vesuvianite of the quality that made the Jeffery mine world famous! This has killer color and top glassy luster, the major crystal is a compound plate 5.5 cm long, that has rich deep purple phantoms of Mangoan Vesuvianite. Damage is not visible with my naked eye, at 10x magnification some tiny chipping can be found. Esthetic and attractive on all sides, this degree of quality is impossible to find now.

Esthetics! Nov. 2009
Outstanding example of the species and this closed locality. A brilliant, sparkling cluster of jewel like crystals that range from a few millimeteres up to 1.8 CM. The luster is excellent and crystals are gemmy. Esthetic and eyecatching, this is far better than average for this classic find. Very clean of damage and displays well from many angles. The color is more vivid and rich in person.
A very well crystallized miniature with glasslike green crystals that show the purple cores of the Mangoan vesuvianite. The largest crystal is 2 cm across and is undamaged on the display side. The back and sides have contacts and removal breaks that while not distracting, can be seen. Quite attractive and a good example of an important discovery that is now gone.
A brilliant thumbnail of electric green gem garnets on matrix. For intense color and luster this is really as good as any of these can get. The largest crystal is 7mm, about the biggest size that can still have such a deep green color. Displays great, we have not seen any of this quality for many years !

Electric emerald green crystals to 5mm densly cover the matrix of this fine Canadian specimen. Chrome Grossular or Tsavorite Garnets are rare in general and even rarer in sizable specimens. This one is brilliant with the best deep emerald color and glasslike luster. Most crystals are perfect and some show phantoms of a deeper green core in a lighter green exterior.
Fine pink to honey color gem garnets in a dense cluster on matrix. Crystals to 8mm showing excellent luster., from the classic and noe famous Jeffrey Mine. Some assocated vesuvianite and micro diopside too. Minimal damage, except at the edges where removed, this is a nice yet affordable older piece from the 60's.

A classic that is distinctive to Mont St Hillaire, this is a deep red Rhodo with the presenting triangular face lightly dusted with accessory minerals. The back and some sides have Aegirine prisms as well. Very sharp and damage free on the front viewing side. There are some contacts and one tiny chip on the back. Quite clean and sizable for one of these, this would be important for a suite of Mont St Hillaire or any comprehensive Rhodo collection.
