A 2.5 CM tall gem clear colorless Topaz crystal rises above the contrasting Matrix. The Topaz is undamaged, in impeccable condition, the matrix has some bruising but it is the matrix and not at all a detriment. A very nice composition over all, good Topaz from the Urals is something of a mineralogical prize and highly respected by collectors. A very good value for the quality and esthetics.

From this famed old locale in the Urals, a terminated Emerald crystal on matrix with deep green color. A few smaller Emeralds are also present but the main crystal (1.7x 1.5 CM) is dominant on the specimen. The large flat termination face is dusted with a sparkling dusting of Mica that adds some interest as well. The history of the minerals from this region is an incredible story that is still ongoing today.. This is a good representative piece with some edge translucence but not cutting worthy. Not at all a common item in the mineral marketplace, yet quite affordable..

A sharp scepter of zoned Amethyst from the Urals. There are what looks like two tiny stems on this crystal , but there is really just one with an ingrown second crystal. In very good condition, ex William Hladysz collection, a choice thumbnail from this classic locality.

A rich mass of Grossular Garnets on a Rodingite matrix from the famed Asbest deposit in the Urals. Some of the Grossular are gemmy and have good color as well. These are always being compared with the better known deposits in the town of Asbestos in Canada, and there are many similarities between the two. Perhaps the most striking difference is that there are very few fine Grossular from Asbest in collections, there are quite rare on the market and usually very small. This is super specimen for the locale. in great condition very lustrous and more impressive in person.

A choice historic piece from the classic Berezovoskii, Ekaterinburg an early gold mine and the type locale for Crocoite. See the Mineralogical record 2016 Vol 47 #4 for a fine detailed article. This is clearly a Pyromorphite and also is labeled as having (and looks like) Vanadinite. Vanadinite is not listed as a specie from here, however this may all be Pyromorphite. This was in the Bally Museum, later with Alain Martaud and last in the John Marshall collection. Old labels are included. The specimen is crystallized on every side, in fine condition. Most of the Pyromorphite I have seen from this famed old Gold mine area are mere green smudges, but this is much more substantial.

Very rich, fine old classic specimen (with 4 prior labels) that is well crystalized. Excellent color contrast with the bright red Crocoite and green Vauquelinite, This seems to be a late 18th or early 19th century specimen, (what may be a date of 1895 is on one label but it may also be a collection number). The discovery of Crocoite at this locality dates back to 1763 and it has been renamed many times over the years. The style of specimen and the association of good Vauquelinite is typical of the vintage pieces. Ex John Marshall collection, his collection card and a previous label indicate it sold for $12.00 in 1956, a vast sum for any mineral at that time. The August 2016 Mineralogical record article on this locality offer a wealth of information and several other good specimen photos. This specimen is far beyond average quality with only very minor bruising, most crystals are intact and are well exposed on the matrix. Virtually impossible to find this quality now on the market, better in person too.

Worldwide mix summer
Large, densely crystallized plate of very bright green Uvarovites from the classic original locality in the Urals. Intense color (this is a true Chromian Garnet) and these crystals are very sharp, distinct and glassy. A sizable, eycatching piece, this is sawn on the backside where it was collected, the sawn area is not visible on display. Uvarovites are one of the rarest Garnets, and only a few places have ever produced any of quality.

Spring update
A very old specimen ex Wards with notes in the hand of George English on label, vintage about 1913-24 from label design. Typical platy crystals and masses on matrix Emerald green to yellow colors. A second old label enclosed is from J. Bohm in Vienna, which contradicts the Wards label locale as being Wreskresenskysch. Based on Mindat details it is possible to be from Sofronovskii the type locality which is in that area. While not a stunning display piece the color and form are good. An old price tag of 3.00 on the piece, a fortune at that time for this was then a very rare specie.
