Calcite w. Dolomite & Marcasite
stock #ALEC-17-881
Benchmark Quarry, St. Johnsville, Montgomery County
New York, United States
6.5 x 3.3 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $900
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very odd and esthetic twinned calcite sits on a thin shaft of matrix that has some Marcasite and Dolomite adding nice accents. The yellow Calcite has a great contrast to the matrix, and is quite translucent. This is the best form of this type Calcite I have seen, it comes from from the amazing NY collection of William Hladysz. Certainly one of a kind.
Calcite/Marcasite Dolomite
stock #ALEC-17-1052
Benchmark Quarry, St. Johnsville, Montgomery County
New York, United States
5.7 x 2 x 2.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $385
pre Tucson 2015 update

A exceptional and odd form with an elagant look. Sharp Dolomite crystals are sprinkled on a stalk of matrix decorated with golden Marcasites and tiny Calcites. The top of the curving finger of matrix has a light amber colored Calcite that is sharp, complete and transparent to translucent. ALll in all some great esthetics from the Benchmark quarry, more famed for its Herkimer style quartz. A very fine NY Calcite!
Vesuvianite with Diopside
stock #17.AL-492
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
4 x 3.1 x 1.4 CM (miniature)
price: $2800
pre Tucson 2015 update

A killer miniature with top color, great esthetics, sharp gemmy crystals and in perfect condition. This is almost all Vesuvianite with a scattering of gemmy Diopside crystals that add a nice contrast. The deep green Vesuvianites are all with the pointed terminations and have gem clarity. This quality was rare and special when the mine was working but is now almost never available. Far better in person this piece really glows in any display.
Vesuvianite Bi-colored, Dichroic
stock #17.AL-489
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
2.9 x 1.7 x 1.3 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $1150
pre Tucson 2015 update

A classic habit Jeffrey mine Vesuvianite single crystal showing the very desirable bi-color zoning with deep purple and green. The crystal is translucent to transparent, with bright glassy luster. The purple core shows a strong dichroism with a remarkable color shift when rotated. Held in front of a light source (like a computer screen) the transparent areas change from purple to green. Now considered to be the worlds best vesuvianites, these are fast becoming impossible to find in this quality and very expensive.
Fluorite
stock #ALEC-17-311
Walworth Quarry - Walworth, Wayne County
New York, United States
3.5 x 2.4 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $450
pre Tucson 2015 update

An "air clear", sharp, lustrous example of the very desirable Walworth NY Fluorite. These are famed for the clarity and overall esthetics as well as their rarity. Only a few specimens are found each year, some years there are none. This specimen was collected in the 70's by Bill Haladyz, it has the quality that has made these highly collectable. Better in person, this is classic USA Fluorite unlike from anyplace else worldwide.
Malachite stalactite
stock #15.1-069
L'Etolle du Congo Mine - Lubumbashi
Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
3.2 x1.6 x 1.1 CM (miniature)
price: $60
pre Tucson 2015 update

Small but perfect, an older stalactite of bright green Malachite from the Congo. The surface on all sides is a druze of sparkling malachite crystals that makes this very different from the usual smooth malachite stalactites.
Wulfenite w. Calcite
stock #ALEC-31-100
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
5.5 x 5.4 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
pre Tucson 2015 update

Iranian Wulfenite with a distinctive look and sizable crystals in very good condition. From the little know and very old Ahmad Abad Mine, this has a nice decoration of tiny calcite scalenohedrons. Very few of this size are damage free, this on is remarkable and intact. A fine addition to any Wulfenite suite.
Wulfenite w. Calcite
stock #ALEC 31-096
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
5.9 x 3.5 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $880
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very different style and look for a Wulfenite specimen. One of the most exciting habits to come from the new finds at Ahmad Abad are the Wulfenites partly encased in calcite. The stepped forms and geometric structures make an esthetic and sculptural specimen. In excellent condition with just some very minor chipping that is not seen on display. An exotic location and a great addition to any Wulfenite collection.
