Fluorite - penetration twins, early specimen
stock #AC-356
Weardale North Pennines
County Durham, England
4.9 x 4.7 x 3.2 CM (miniature)
price: $700
May 2015

Brilliant green transparent cubes to 4 CM across show penetrations and fine growth hillocks. This also has a very nice daylight Fluorescence in vivid purple blue. A quite old specimen (pre 1950's) that is notably different from any of the recent finds. The color and clarity stand out in person, but are hard to see in photos. The condition is fine on the two primary display sides, the back is broken where it was removed and not visible in any logical display.
Quartz - Epidote included -layered phantoms
stock #15.1-119
Cisneros, Mun. de Buenaventura
Valle del Cauca, Colombia
9.4 x 5.9 x 5.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $175
May 2015

An oddity from this little known Gold mining area of Colombia, a quartz prism with complex internal layers of greenish epidote phantoms. This singly terminated crystal is quite chipped and bruised as were all in the find, but it is far better than most. While we almost never offer such a damaged specimen this is a very unusual Quartz that is unique to this locale and quite unusual. These were found in 2010 and most ended up as beautiful cut stones, cabs etc that showed the green layers to advantage. There are few if any sizable uncut crystals available in any condition.
Quartz var. Citrine (old find)
stock #ALEC-10-935
"Santander Pegmatite"
Santander, Colombia
4.7 x 2.1 x 1.7 CM (miniature)
price: $330
May 2015

A fine and gemmy Citrine pair of sharp crystals from a find made in Colombia in the 1970's. There have not been more since these came out, and this is a good example of the quality of the find. An extremely small chip is noted on this, otherwise in fine condition with delicate lemon color. Where the two crystals are joined there are interesting wispy inclusions some of which are curved and hairlike. The location has always been given as the "Santander Pegmatite" of which there are many. Recent attempts to relocate this find have so far failed.
Epidote
stock #13.1-343
Garnet Hill, Calaveras County
California, United States
3.9 x 1.9 1.3 CM (miniature)
price: $165
May 2015

A single sharp and well formed Epidote crystal from the Garnet hill locale in California's Gold country. Undamaged as seen, there are some tiny secondary epidotes ecrusting some faces. A very good example from this interesting locale.
Stilbite -Radial type-classic locale
stock #15.1-523
Paterson
New Jersey, United States
7.2 5.6 x 2.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $140
May 2015

An old Schortmann's specimen circa 1948-50 from the Patterson New Jersey area. The radial ball of Stilbite is 3.2 CM across and nicely exposed. This sort of esthetic is not very common from this classic locale best known for Prehnites. In fine condition.
Barite (gemmy golden) on Quartz w. Fluorite
stock #ALEC-26-010
Pohla Mine, Schwarzenberg District
Saxony, Germany
10 x 7.4 x 2.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $380
May 2015

A venerable German classic- this matrix plate hosts several sharp gem clear Barites to 2 CM. In very good condition, the matrix has some minor Fluorite and Pyrite but is mostly composed of sparkling Quartz. Displays well as is or could be trimmed to make several fine miniatures. Previous dealer labels included (with 500.00$ price tag).
Wulfenite
stock #15.1-289
Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz County
Arizona, United States
4.7 x 3.3 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $550
May 2015

The Red Cloud mine is rightly legendary and highly regarded as a source of great Wulfenite. This example has a main crystal that is undamaged, has fine color and sits perfectly on the matrix. Remarkably, all the tiny associated Wulfenites and Calcites are in fine condition even under 10X magnification. The base and rear of the specimen was sawn flat to enable collection without damage. The saw marks are completely hidden from any display angle and the piece sits well by itself.

Urals Region, Russia

A well formed Russian Sapphire cluster in rosette form that is well exposed on the Marble/Calcite matrix. The Corundum cluster is 3.2 M across and has a subtle color zoning. Contrasts well with the matrix, a clean and distinctive specimen.
