Azurite & Malachite
stock #ALEC-15-259
Liufengshan Mine, Guichi Dist., Chizhou Pref
Anhui, China
8 x 5.5 x 4.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $750
Winter 2016-17

Bright colors, well crystallized and in excellent condition, this is far better than most Chinese Azurites. Ex Shields Flynn collection, the luster and structure is similar to some Milpillas specimens, but with careful examination the Anhui "look" is seen. Very three dimensional and with a rich wet look that is very eyecatching.
Pyromorphite
stock #15.1-(SM4006B)
Daoping Lead-Zinc Mine, Yangshao
Guangxi, China
4.7 x 4.3 x 4.4 CM (miniature)
price: $1150
Winter 2016-17

With all the great Pyromorphites that came from Daoping only a very small percentage were super esthetic. This miniature is clearly exceptional. Well formed, composed of three dimensional tree like sprays with top color, luster and undamaged. Displays well from all sides. This has a mix of light color needle crystals and larger fat hoppered barrel habit that have wet look deep green color. From the 2000 vintage find that was perhaps the best ever, this is clearly NOT typical!
Pyromorphite (Arsenian color)
stock #ALEC-29-044
Bunkerhill Mine, Kellogg, Coeur d'Alene District, Shosone County
Idaho, United States
2.7 x 2.6 x 2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $440
Winter 2016-17

Sweet and choice wet-look deep orange reddish Pyromorphite from the classic Bunker Hill. Distinct botryoidal crystals with clear faces can be easily seen. In fine condition with great luster the form is a little like a mushroom. Excellent toenail size with fine impact for the size.
Scapolite - Purple gem crystal
stock #15.1-1062-(SM2801)
Kukurt, Pamir Mts
Viloyati Mukhtori Gorno-Badakhsha, Tajikistan
3.2 x 1.6 x 1.4 CM (miniature)
price: $360
Winter 2016-17

A rich deep purple gemmy Scapolite from the finds in the 1990s. The color is a bit hard to capture but in person it has a strong impact for size. One edge has some contacts that are not seen on display the overall condition is quite fine. These are now quite uncommon in the market, this one has a good gem interior and could facet a sizable stone or two.
Beryl v. Aquamarine
stock # 15.1-1001-(SM1172)
Murzinka Mine,Sarapulka Dist., Sverdlovskaya Oblast, Middle Urals
Urals Region, Russia
4.7 x 2.2 x 1.9 CM (miniature)
price: $280
Winter 2016-17

An etched crystal of blue gemmy Aquamarine, this is also impressivly dichroic. Classic Beryl specimen from the Urals that is much better in person. Ex. University of Chicago collection this is etched and complexly crystallized on the front, top and sides. There is a separation crack on the back and underside that is not visible on display. The dichroic response is strong when rotating the backlit crystal changes from a pale greenish blue to a dark cerulian blue.
Uvite- Tourmaline group Green Crystals
stock #8.AE-955
Brumado
Bahia, Brazil
3.2 x 2.7 x 2.4 CM (miniature)
price: $180
Winter 2016-17

From the now classic finds at Brumado, a very well composed cluster of glassy deep green crystals. In fine condition with a few tiny flecks of adhering quartz otherwise this is all Uvite. Prior to these finds almost all known Uvite was black. There seems to be little to no new production now.
Cassiterite & Stibnite (Bismuthinite?) on Quartz (rare association)
stock #ALEC-15-279
Amo Mine, Ximeng
Yunnan, China
5.2 x 3.8 x 2.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $300
Winter 2016-17

A bizzare association, well formed slightly translucent Cassiterites sitting on Quartz with a crude 5 CM Stibnite crystal along one edge. The question was recently asked if this is Stibnite or Bismuthinite, and we have not yet made an analysis. The Cassiterites have good luster and form, very three dimensional. Ex Shields Flynn collection, via Bert Ottens, I have never seen another of these. There is a matrix repair that is not visible.
Analcime w. Serandite
stock #ALEC-19-186
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
2.5 x 2.7 x 2.8 CM (miniature)
price: $160
Winter 2016-17

A sweet small Analcime sitting on a bit of contrasting Serandite. The Analcime is complete all around and the front side is especially lustrous. From the great Mt St Hillaire, now closed to collecting. Very sharp and in fine condition.
