Fluorite, Pink single crystal
stock #Alkec-20-079
Planggenstock, Goscheneralp, Goschenen Valley
Canton Uri, Switzerland
2.1 x 1.8 x 1.4 CM (thumbnail)
price: $290
new june 17

Alpine pink Fluorite with a slight zoning, frosted faces and classic habit. Mounted on a turned wooden spindle this is a nice thumbnail that wont break the bank. Not perfect, there is contacting and cleaving on the underside so this is really about the top half of the octahedron, which is the logical display side. As a result the price is far less than usual for a nice Swiss Fluorite. Excellent value

A vintage Bad Ems specimen that comes with old labels and a glass topped box likely late 19th or early 20th century vintage. It is quite rare to find a crystal this large without chips or issues. A choice classic locale German Pyromorphite.

stock #Alec-14-309
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
9.8 x 7 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $1400
new june 17

A striking cabinet sized plate of sharp Calcite crystals almost totally encrusted with bright sparkling Duftite micro crystals. In exceptional undamaged condition, Duftite is rare in good display quality specimens but this is a very fine and colorful piece. The individual crystals are more distinct and larger than the more typical Tsumeb smudges. Classic form for the underlying Calcite there is some selective coating noted but overall very little of the white calcite is exposed. Choice.
Fluorite on Albite w. Muscovite
stock #Alec 18-219
Skardu District
Gilgit, Northern Areas, Pakistan
4.9 x 3.4 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $520
new june 17

A choice alpine gemmy sea-green octahedron of Fluorite nicely perched on Pegmatite matrix. From the Skardu area of Pakistan, this is more transparent and with deeper green hue than is usually seen. There is a small clean repair on the matrix but the Fluorite is not repaired. Overall in fine condition, the Fluorite has some adhering mica and contacts but no damage. The overall esthetics on this are excellent. Some faces of the Fluorite show more complex growth structures. The photos here are not backlit at all but glows impressively when lit that way.
