Titanite -var. Sphene, twinned crystals
stock #ALEC-9-060
Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3 x 2.5 x 2.4 CM (miniature)
price: $220
pre Tucson 2015 update

Gemmy twin crystals with sharp edges and bright luster on a contrasting matrix. In good condition overall but with some edge chipping, hence more affordable. This is from finds made in the 1990's which had especially good color.
Grossular
stock #17.AL-497
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.2 x 2 x .9 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $840
pre Tucson 2015 update

Gem clear, sharp and with top glass-like luster this has a lot of impact for its size. From the long flooded deep areas of the main pit at Jeffrey, this is the sort of Garnet that made this spot world famous. Flat contact on back (typical of these plates) and very 3 dimensional of the display side, excellent condition. These have become very hard or very expensive to get in this quality.
Cuprite var. Chalcotrichite with Malachite
stock #12.1-208
Changmenshan Copper Mine, Jiulang
Jiangxi, China
7.2 x 5.6 x 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $575
pre Tucson 2015 update

Electric red crystals of Chalcotrichite in characteristic hair-like form are densely clustered in and near a protective vug. Great display quality for such a delicate mineral. This was found over 7 years ago, we have not seen new material from this locale since. Crystals reach well over 1 CM and are gem clear under magnification. This can be shipped (with insurance and special packaging) or delivered in person at a show or elsewhere. Please write us for details.
SOLD Quartz (capped)
stock #SOLD 14.1-054
Virtuous Lady Mine - Buckland Monachorum
Tavistock District, Devon, England
6.4 x 4.3 x 4.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $0
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very famous type of Quartz from a very famous location that is also well formed and attractive. The "capped" quartz is a single specimen that separates into two pieces revealing an inner quartz crystal core that formed earlier, much like nesting Russian dolls. Some small nicks are noted on this piece as is typical, but it is far better condition than most. The fit of the crystals is snug and precise, this classic habit is well illustrated in this piece!
Actinolite pseudo after Diopside (Uralite)
stock #8.AE-736
Calumet Mine, Turret District, Chaffee County
Colorado, United States
8.8 x 5.2 x 5.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $240
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very well documented and fine Colorado classic piece, this comes with 5 old labels, one of which notes: Collected in 1946 by C.G. Coil. Clarence Coil was a significant figure in Colorado Mineralogy. Well formed, terminated crystals are on several sides and in one large vug. This was in many collections over the years, including Elberto Tealdi (Milan, Italy) and Richard Kosnar. The esthetics and satiny luster in person show why it was included in these fine collections.
Beryl V. Goshenite on Muscovite with Albite
stock #7.AE-462
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Pref.
Sichuan, China
6.2 x 5.3 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $320
pre Tucson 2015 update

Unusually gem clear, free standing Beryl crystal from this world class locale. The main crystal is sharp and undamaged, a few wispy veils are seen inside from some angles. A very faint hint of blue is noted but this is essentially colorless Beryl (Goshenite) which is surprisingly rare. Sawn on the underside as is usual for collecting these, it sits well on the flat base.
Cornetite with Malachite, Chrysocolla
stock #15.1-091
Katanga, Central Area, Katanga Copper zone
Shaba, Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
7 X 6.4 X 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $110
Tucson group

Bright blue sparkling Cornetite in two different hues is covering a matrix of Malachite and translucent Chrysocolla. From finds in 2000, the druzy Cornetite layer is covering much of the surface on this specimnen. A very nice, colorful example for the specie.
Shattuckite with Malachite
stock #ALEC-4-285
Kaokoveld Plateau
Kunene Region, Namibia
11.2 x 6.4 x 5.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $3250
pre Tucson 2015 update

An intense color, well crystalized large Shattuckite with fine malachite sprays and sparkling luster. One of the nicest of this style, this displays well from any angle, and the color is very much "electric". This find produced the best Shattuckites ever seen and this is an especially choice example. Much more three dimensional than most and with great display impact, in fine condition. On close exam many small doubly terminated Quartz crystals are seen that are a brilliant blue color from included Shattuckite and add a lot of flash. Compared to other fine pieces this is a great value.
