Azurite and Mottramite
stock #Alec 5-046
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
4.6 x 1.6 CM (miniature)
price: $1450
Spring 2013

An intense and fine miniature! Superb esthetics and in perfect condition, this has bright glassy lustre and fine color contrast. Tsumeb produced lots of Azurites, but a very small percentage were this good. For the size this is about as pretty as an Azurite can get. A real bargain for this closed, classic location!
Stibnite on (and in) Fluorite Cubes
stock #6.2-333
Dehegou Mine, (Zhangergou, Lushi) Lushi County
Henan, China
9 x 8.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $275
Tucson group

The relatively rare pyramidal or "4 sided pointed chisel tip" termination is well displayed on this stibnite and the matrix is almost pure cubic Fluorite included by stibnite. Some stibnites display a brassy and blue irridescent alterations. The largest crystals are perfect but there is minor damage elsewhere and a broken stib near the center that can be seen depending on the angle of display. That said it is still very displayable, esthetic and shows a rarer crystal form and a great association.
Bornite (very fine crystals) with Chalcocite, Quartz, Barite, Chalcopyrite etc.
stock #9.1-296
Dzhezkazgan Oblast
Karaganda Oblast (Qaragandy Oblysy), Kazakhstan
10.7 x 5.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $875
Spring 2013

EX. Ernie Schlichter. Bornite is not a rare mineral but in good crystals it is is super rare! The best have come from Kahzakstan, and this is an esthetic and above average example with sharp crystals reaching 2.3 CM on contrasting matrix. Displays great with excellent patina of Blue-Black-Silver hues. By naked eye the condition is quite fine, there are chips found with magnification and typical hairline cracks are noted as seen in the photos. This is in great condition overall for such a delicate mineral, and very attractive for this usually drab specie!
