Cinnabar on Dolomite
stock #7 CNA 522
Chatian Mine, Fenghuang
Hunan, China
6.5 x 5 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $220

A very fine gemmy 1.3 cm main crystal of Cinnabar sits well in an exposed vug of crystallized Dolomite. It is rare to find this form, tabular and untwinned in any but micro crystals. The color is the richest possible red and is in good condition. Close examination shows a hairline crack in the prism but it seems solid and does not detract at all. This is far above the usual quality!
Galena (mirror bright modified cubes)
stock #10.1-068
Gyudyurska Mine, Zlatograd
Smolyan Oblast, Bulgaria
8.5 x 5.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $140

Impossibly bright and lustrous, these modified cubes make a very eyecatching specimen. The fantastic Bulgarian Galenas are already noted as some of the best ever found. There are many forms and associations, but the most impressive are those with an intense metallic luster that is almost impossible to photograph. Damage free, this is a great value.
Eosphorite on Quartz (doubly terminated)
stock #0128-JM-2142
Taquaral, Itinga
Minas Gerais, Brazil
10.1 x 3.8 x 2.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $185

A 10 CM, doubly terminated gemmy quartz crystal showing parallel growth is host to a rich display of Eosphorite crystals. No damage, the Eosphorite blades are in radiating clusters that reach up to 1.7 cm. Ex John Marshall collection, he obtained this piece in the 1970's. Good Eosphorites are uncommon, and this is an exceptionally fine one.
Beryl (Zoned-milky white to Aquamarine)
stock #0126-JM-383
Palmital Mine, Minas Novas, Jequitinhonha Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3.9 x 3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $175

An unusual Beryl crystal, from a find several years ago (1960's) that produced these odd specimens. Bright glassy luster, a deep translucent bluish white zone at the base changes to a clear blue green near the termination. There is micro chipping on some edges, as all pieces had from this find, despite this the specimen is the most pristine I have seen of this style. A very different Beryl that is certainly rare!
Chrysocolla (psudo after Atacamite)
stock #0129-JM-3875
La Farola Mine, Cerro Pintado
Copiapo Province, Atacama Region, Chile
9.4 x 8.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $100

Brilliant rich blue color, densely deposited crusts on matrix. The Chrysocolla is in the form of rounded tube like structures and plates. From J. Hyrsl minerals (Czech Republic) who ascribes the form to a pseudomorph of Atacamite. Very attractive deep color.
Rhodochrosite and Sphalerite with Pyrite
stock #10.1-069
Eagle Mine, Gilman District, Eagle Co.
Colorado, United States
11.5 x 9.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $400

A Colorado classic, the Eagle mine has provided many fine specimens over the years. This is a very good Rhodo with individual sharp rhombs to 2 CM covering most of the surface. Scattered Sphalerites on the display side (and many more on the reverse side) add extra sparkle. It is rare to find examples this good from the location. This old timer is in exceptional condition, all the main rhombs are perfect. A great addition for a Colorado collection or a rhodochrosite suite.
Fluorite on Barite
stock #10.1-011
Madoc, Centre Hastings, Hastings County
Ontario, Canada
4.5 x 3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $140

A very attractive miniature specimen with the main Flourite of 2 CM perched on top of a Barite matrix. Pristine on the display face but contacted on the back side, this is a very well formed Fluorite from an important Canadian location.
Fluorite, Wulfenite, Quartz, Dolomite etc.
stock #0127-JMx
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
9.3 x 7 CM (cabinet)
price: $240

An older specimen of sharp, deep purple Fluorite on matrix from the Mina Ojuela. Close examination shows pristine clear Wulfenites, as well as several other species. The Fluorites are undamaged and present well. FL pale red.
