Brazilianite
stock #AC-349
Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
8 x 5.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $350

A cluster of pure Brazilianite in stacked crystals reaching 4.6 cm. This is an older piece from the mid 1960's when the early materials from Linopolis were first available. The display face of this piece is pristine, undamaged and very sculptural, it is contacted on the backside which is not visible on display. The crystals are glassy and translucent but have many cloudy inclusions so are not gemmy except on thin edges. Since these are not the top dollar gem crystals this is a very affordable and attractive piece!
Pyromorphite (ex. John Marshall collection)
stock #1036-JM-973
Hard Rigg Edge, Melmercy Fell, Alson Moor
Cumberland, Cumbria, England
8 x 6.4 Cm. (cabinet)
price: $300

A very nice example of Cumberland pyromorphite with a strong green color. Individual crystals are mostly under 2 mm and form a dense carpet on the matrix. Shows good coverage on both sides. Collected by John Marshall in 1994, his notes state: "one of the best found there, perhaps indicative of what may still be found deeper"
Pyromorphite (Ex Lechner, John Marshall)
stock #0100-JM-141
Bleistadt
Bohemia, Czech Republic
6.2 x 4.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $350

A very old specimen from Bleistadt, this vuggy matrix holds about half a dozen lustrous Pyros. Similar but slightly darker than Bad Ems color these crystals reach 9mm. From the famous Lechner collection that was sold by Schortmann in the 60's. Classic and very rare, in excellent condition.
Galena (Spinel Twins) ex. John Marshall
stock #1083-JM 3685
Reliquia Mine, Huallance District, Dos de Mayo Province
Huanuco Department, Peru
7.8 x 7 CM (cabinet)
price: $300

Good Spinel twins are rare from Peru, these are especially fine, very sharp and attractive. From John Marshall's worldwide Galena collection, this is a very distinctive and esthetic piece, he held it in high regard.
Galena with Sphalerite
stock #10.1-066
Mid Continent Mine, Baxter Springs
Kansas, United States
9.8 x 8.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $220

A nice, well composed galena from the Mid Continent mine. Good luster on crystals that reach 3 cm, displays very well and a nice addition to any suite of Galena or Tri-state classics. Sharp and excellent damage wise. Specimens like this have become scarce as the mines have been closed for several decades now.
Mimetite
stock #9.1-362
Pingtouling Mine, Liannan, Sanjiang
Guangdong, China
5.3 x 4 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $850

An excellent, clean and well crystallized Mimetite from the world class finds of 2003 at Pingtouling. Many collectors now consider this small find to have produced the world most attractive Mimetite, and as the mine is flooded and collapsed there will be no more. These are already classics with prices climbing and few good ones available. This a nice piece and the color is rich (a little more orange-yellow than is seen on some computers). In very good condition there is no eye visible damage on the display area. It is nearly pure mimetite, and heavy. This has been carefully stabilized so there is no worry of crumbling matrix.
Arsenopyrite (exceptionally large crystals)
stock #7 -CNA-396
Yaogangxian Tungsten Mine, Yizhang County
Hunan, China
7.5 x 6.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $1500

Simply put, this is a huge, gleaming, esthetic and fine Arsenopyrite from Yaoganxian. Arsenopyrite is not rare, but great form with huge, undamaged crystals are. The largest here is 6.3 CM and doubly terminated. Brilliant luster, nice architecture, impressive display face and outstanding for the species. I have never seen a better example for sale from any locality. Yaoganxian Arsenopyrites rank with the best, I think eclipsing Panasquira, Cornwall and Peru. This specimen is 2002 vintage. Contacting and removal damage is limited to the rear base area, not visible on display. Although this might seem expensive for a common, metallic mineral, this is an incredible value for a top display piece!
SOLD Sphalerite on Quartz
stock #SOLD 6.2-143
Shuikoushan Lead Zinc Mine, Changning, Hengyang Pref.
Hunan, China
6.8 x 5.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $0

A striking, bright big Sphalerite is perfectly presented on a bed of druzy quartz. A dark reddish brown ball at first glance, with backlighting, this glows intense red. Excellent condition, the 3.3 CM diameter crystal cluster is mostly gemmy. This mine has been the source of many Sphalerites, but this is far, far better than most, and is excellent for the specie.
