Quartz (green-blue artichoke type)
stock #8.1-111
Shangbao Pyrite Mine, Leiyang
Hunan, China
10.5x8.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $250

A bright and esthetic cluster of quartz showing several forms and reaching over 6 CM. There are also fluorites (white to 1 CM size), pyrite, dolomite and small bismuthinites as well but the main attraction is the greenish "artichokes" that are famous from Shangbao. Most of the main crystals are in excellent condition but some minor damage is visible on smaller side crystals with magnifcation. This can be displayed without any damage visible at all. Some terminations at first glace seem damaged but with magnification it becomes clear that they are fully terminated with either an unusual cupped and cavernous structure or many tiny fibrous parallel growths which are in turn terminated. Some small scepters are here too. The color for these is usually referred to as Green, but depending on the light and the viewer, the color can be more blueish. Either way this is very attractive and lustrous piece.
Copper in Calcite
stock #8.1-263
Bufa Mine, La Bufa, Municipio de Batopilas
Chihuahua, Mexico
5.5 x 4 CM (miniature)
price: $425

A very esthetic, pristine and fine specimen from this old find. Exceptional patina on the copper and complex branching on and in the calcites which also exhibit some twinning.
SOLD Fluorite included by native Silver with Rhodochrosite, Acanthite, etc.
stock #SOLD 8.1-309
Wudong mine, Liubao, Cangwu Co. Wuzoh
Guangxi, China
4.5 x 3.8 CM (miniature)
price: $0

A fantastic oddity! Gemmy Fluorites are visibly included by wires and crystals of Native Silver. The clear crystals (up to 2 cm diagonal) also show well pink Rhodochrosites, Acanthites and other Sulfides inside. The matrix includes some Bertrandite and what seems to be Stephanite in micro crystals. A great assemblage and a very displayable piece as well. This is the kind of oddity that keeps mineral collecting exciting!
Fluorite with Acanthite, native Silver, Sphalerite etc.
stock #8.1-311
Wudong mine, Liubao, Cangwu Co. Wuzoh
Guangxi, China
3.9 x 2.4 CM (small miniature)
price: $200

Clear Fluorites (very light green) are the matrix for Native silver, Acanthite and other silver minerals. Some of the Fluorite is included by these minerals - it is best appreciated with magnification. A single sharp Sphalerite crystal is partially coated with acathite and a film of silver. Micro crystals that appear to be polybasite are also noted. A very different sort of Silver specimen!
Sphalerite on quartz with calcite
stock #6.2-605
Shuikoushan Lead Zinc Mine, Changning, Hengyang Pref.
Hunan, China
8.1 x 7 CM (cabinet)
price: $400

A very fine, large (3.9 CM) sharp and glassy Sphalerite sits on the matrix of Dolomite coated with quartz and minor calcite. When backlit the Sphalerite glows Orange Red. The crystal is complete with no damage. Very esthetic.
Quartz- Black Stemmed Scepter
stock #8.1-021
Treasure Mountain, Little Falls, Herkimer County
New York, United States
3.5 x 1.7 CM (small miniature)
price: $90

The most desirable style of Herkimer "diamonds" is the the Black Stem scepter. These only occur in a single small zone and are not currently being found. This is a good, clean and undamaged example collected in the early 90's. Very distinct phantoming and lots of interesting inclusions.
Pyromorphite
stock #8.1-011
Resuperferolitica Mine,Santa Eufemia
Cordoba, Andalucia, Spain
8 x 6 CM (cabinet)
price: $550

Ex. John Marshall collection, a very well crystalized Santa Eufemia Pyro with large individual crystals that exceed 1.6 CM. This is overall in excellent condition and is crystallized on 2 sides with large vugs filled with sprays and freestanding individual crystals. A super display peice from a very important locality.
Proustite
stock #7-MOR-210
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
6.5 x 5.8 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $860

A very rich, estheticly presented and fine specimen of the rarest of the Ruby Silver minerals, Proustite. A large 4.6 CM crystalized mass of nearly pure proustite in association with minor acanthite crystals rises from the matrix. There is no visible damage even under 10x magnification. The individual proustites are brilliant ruby color, lustrous and well formed up to 3 mm in size and arranged on clusters. A great piece that shows the specie well from a great Silver locality, While this is not going to compete with the best old German and Chilean examples, it is affordable and pretty. This is one of the best I have seen from Morocco, likely from the Imiter Mine but I can not confirm the locality beyond the Bou Azzer region.
