Rhodochrosite with Acanthite, Native Silver, Sphalerite , Chalcopyrite etc.
stock #9.1-132
Wudong Mine, Wuzhou Prefecture
Guizoh, China
6.8 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $500

A great multi specie Rhodochrosite and Silver piece that has lots to look at! The Rhodo rhomb is 1.6 CM in size, sharp with rich red color. It is resting on a mass of crystalized Sulfide minerals, Sphalerite and Acanthite being the main ones and has native Silver in wires and curling clusters scattered. The rare associations are well presented, few Wudong area Rhodos have Silver associated, and few of those are esthetic.
Beryl V. Emerald -vanadium rich
stock #4.2-387.1
Malipo, Wenshan
Yunnan, China
7.9 X 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $220

A quite sizable (7.9 CM) and impressive Chinese Emerald with the typical color from this find. This Beryl is not gemmy except on thin edges and not colored by Chromium as are the Colombian Emeralds. Despite that this is still attractive and affordable. The crystal has been repaired (1x) and shows also a natural break and re-healing. A very good addition to a suite of Beryl, Chinese minerals or just as an attractive display piece.
Smithsonite (Deep green, ex John Marshall Collection)
stock #0287-JM-455
Kelly Mine, Magdelena district
New Mexico, United States
9 x 6.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $875

Super deep rich color, no damage and large size from mining in the late 1950's. These are already cherished classics for their color and luster. Much more green than the usual blue color, displays well and a very good value
Azurite with minor Malachite
stock #4.2-539-.2
Tongshan Copper-Iron Mine, Guichi City
Anhui, China
7.4 x 6.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $140

A big, bright blue sparkling specimen with Azurite crystals densely packed on the display faces. The copper deposits in this area of Anhui province have been mined for thousands of years, probably the longest continuous operation on earth. Small scale mining lets specimens escape the huge crushers that are used elsewhere. Very attractive and affordable.
Calcite with Pyrite (ex. John Marshall)
stock #0292-JM-3826
Shullsburg, Lafayette County
Wisconsin, United States
9.4 x 6.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $240

Classic calcite on sulfide and dolomite matrix from the great discoveries at Shullsburg. Esthetic and well presented, the calcites reach 3.2 CM. The backside isalso displayable. The front display face appears damage free (magnification finds micro nicks)there is contacting on the reverse but all in all it looks pristine. These are well respected as great and distinctive specimens, this is a good affordable example.
Brazilianite
stock #AC-349
Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
8 x 5.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $275

A cluster of pure Brazilianite in stacked crystals reaching 4.6 cm. This is an older piece from the mid 1960s when the early materials from Linopolis were first available. The display face of this piece is pristine, undamaged and very sculptural, it is contacted on the backside which is not visible on display. The crystals are glassy and translucent but have many cloudy inclusions so are not gemmy except on thin edges. Since these are not the top dollar gem crystals this is a very affordable and attractive piece!
Fluorite, Wulfenite, Quartz, Dolomite etc.
stock #0127-JMx
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
9.3 x 7 CM (cabinet)
price: $240

An older specimen of sharp, deep purple Fluorite on matrix from the Mina Ojuela. Close examination shows pristine clear Wulfenites, as well as several other species. The Fluorites are undamaged and present well. FL pale red.
Rhodochrosite and Sphalerite with Pyrite
stock #10.1-069
Eagle Mine, Gilman District, Eagle Co.
Colorado, United States
11.5 x 9.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $300

A Colorado classic, the Eagle mine has provided many fine specimens over the years. This is a very good Rhodo with individual sharp rhombs to 2 CM covering most of the surface. Scattered Sphalerites on the display side (and many more on the reverse side) add extra sparkle. It is rare to find examples this good from the location. This old timer is in exceptional condition, all the main rhombs are perfect. A great addition for a Colorado collection or a rhodochrosite suite.
