Hydrozincite, Smithsonite - Type locality for Hydrozincite
stock #16.1-685
Bleiberg District, Gailtaier Alpen and Karnische Alpen
Carinthia, Austria
9.5 x 5.6 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $220

A large specimen from Bleiberg (Type locale) that is mostly Hydrozincite some formed over and with Smithsonite. Very well defined bothroids on a cast of Gossan that has additional layers of Hydrozincite seen on the underside. In fine condition, fluorescent and with some luster. One old label included mentions only the Smithsonite. For what is often an un attractive mineral specie, this is quite attractive and well composed.

Cerussite with Anglesite and Linarite - US Classic locale
stock #18.1-241
Bunker Hill Mine, Jersey Level, Kellogg, Coeur dAlene District, Shosone
Idaho, United States
3.1 x 2.7 x 1.8 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $125

From the famed Bunker Hill Mine, this is a choice small specimen of sharply crystallized Cerussite with a few small Anglesite prisms as well. Both twins and single crystals are noted. The matrix also includes some small bits of Linarite and what looks like Caledonite in spots on Cerussites. Choice cognac color and sharp form protected in a shallow vug. The condition in the vug is good, the only notable damage is outside the vug itself. Choice for the locale and an attractive Lead secondary from this famed Pyromorphite locality.

stock #18.1-242
Kongsberg Silver mining district, Kongsberg
Buskerud, Norway
2.6 x 1.8 x .9 CM (thumbnail)
price: $290
Worldwide mix summer

A very sweet thumbnail of crystalline Calcite shot through with wire Silver. From Kongsberg, this piece was in the collections of Ernie Schlichter and Larry White. Classic habit from this classic locale, the specimen displays well from several angles. Excellent dark patina on the wires adds a good contrast to the white Calcite

Gold- flattened crystals
stock #18.1-244
Round Mountain, Open Pit Gold mine, Nye County
Nevada, United States
2.2 x 1.5 x .7 CM (thumbnail)
price: $590
Worldwide mix summer

Brilliant gold color and luster with stacked flattened crystals of Octahedral habit. Very choice and esthetic example of the habit from the great finds at Round Mountain. 3.3 grams, in fine condition and with a strong display esthetic. Ex Larry White collection, this habit was much less typical at the mine, most pieces were wires, leaf or a combination, this is more substantial prismatic flat crystals.

Fluorite - cube with beveled edges
stock #18.1-236
Cantera Llamas, Duyos, Caravia
Asturias, Spain
2.5 x 2.2 x 1.4 CM (thumbnail)
price: $280
Worldwide mix summer

Transparent cube, slightly elongated with beveled edges and light purple color. From the small digs at the Llamas site, this has both clear and lightly frosted faces, no damage but some contacts that can be seen through the cube from different angles. We are very impressed with the quality of these Fluorites, they are one of the best recent finds for the specie.

Apatite (Fluorapatite) on Muscovite with Calcite
stock #15.1-1022-(SM4860)
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Pref.
Sichuan Province, China
8.8 x 5.7 x 4.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
Worldwide mix summer

A superb example of the gem clear pink Apatites from the Xuebaoding mountain find of 2004. These Apatites are clustered in a chain nestled in a well crystalized vug of Muscovite. The edges of the specimen are also decorated with clusters of small clear Calcite crystals which are quite uncommon in this locale. We have handled several of these Apatites and this is one of the very best, the color and clarity are especially fine. Overall a very esthetic presentation, damage free and these Apatites are also vividly fluorescent.

Topaz- gemmy doubly terminated crystals
stock #18.1-235
Thomas Mountains
Utah, United States
2.8 x 1.7 x 1.4 CM (thumbnail)

Gem clear sharp Cognac color Topaz crystals from the prolific Thomas Mountains. This piece is much more clear than most we see from the locale and has the desirable light sherry or cognac color (depending on your preferences). Formerly in the Les Hitchings collection. A fine thumbnail in excellent condition and choice form, a Utah classic.

Barite- delicate blue bladed
stock #AX-32-080
Jebel Ouichane, Beni Bou Ifrour, Nador
Oriental Region, Morocco
6 x 4.4 x 3.7CM (cabinet)
price: $775
Worldwide mix summer

For the past 2 years there have been some very attractive blue Barites coming from Jebel Ouichane, these have been big news in the mineral world. However, most are quite damaged and those with great condition and fine esthetics are quite prized. This piece is very fine, has minimal minor edge chipping (very rare) and the form, color and presentation are excellent. A very strong piece with a good balance of form and condition. Selected from hundreds of good pieces as a top example. We have several others in this size range at lower prices but for display quality this is far better and more impressive in person.
