Apatite (CaF) / Fluorapatite
stock #15.1-465
Megiliggar Rocks Breage, Mount's Bay Dist.
Cornwall, England
1.8 x .3 x .3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $340
Fall 2015

Gem clear crystal in fine condition from this classic Cornish location. The crystal includes a crude but distinct internal "helix" pattern which adds considerable interest. A fine small specimen with delicate pale blue color and glassy luster.
Kaolinite pseudo after Orthoclase (Carlsbad twin)
stock #13.1-319
St. Austell District
Cornwall, England
5.6 x 3.6 x 1 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Fall 2015

An old Cornish classic, this pseudomorph is a complete and sharp replacement of the original twinned Feldspar. No damage or missing areas, this is a perfect floater. Textbook form much like a crystal model. Sometimes called "pig's ears" these are not "beauty" type display minerals but they are distinctive and unique to these old finds. Not many turn up for sale, this one is the best and sharpest example we have seen available.
Smithsonite
stock #13.1-377
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
5.4 x 3.8 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $300
Fall 2015

A well formed Tsumeb Smithsonite with individual crystals up to 1 CM. It has become common to refer to all Smithsonite that is yellow to orange as "Cadmian". However, without an analysis to confirm this may not be correct in all cases. This specimen has not been analyzed but it does have a very good color, form and will fit well into a Smithsonite or Tsumeb suite.
Vesuvianite
stock #17.AL-510
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.5 x 2.2 x .8 CM (miniature)
price: $220
Fall 2015

Green crystals of translucent Vesuvianite with zones of red-pink on some tips in a spray or treelike cluster. A nice, esthetic example - sadly with some tiny chips (not easily seen but they are there) that keeps the price low. A good, colorful display specimen from the best locale (Jeffrey Mine) that looks like it costs a lot more.
Smithsonite -well crystallized
stock #9.1-223
Tsumeb
Otavi-Bergland district, Oshikoto, Namibia
7.4 x 5.2 x 3.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $480
Fall 2015

A good, clean, classic Tsumeb Smithsonite that has fine esthetics. The crystals are fully translucent and have a slight zoning as well. These also have the iridescence inside the prisms that is distinctive for fine Tsumeb Smithsonite. In excellent condition damage wise, this is a very good value for such a well formed cabinet specimen.
Wulfenite - with Malachite, Dolomite etc
stock #10.1-326
Tsumeb
Otavi-Bergland district, Oshikoto, Namibia
3.9 x 3.1 x 2.2 (miniature)
price: $180
Fall 2015

A nice, affordable Tsumeb Wulfenite showing sharp dark cognac colored crystals on a complex, contrasting matrix. Micro crystals of several species cover the matrix. The Wulfenites are translucent to transparent and have some tiny edge chipping as seen. Inexpensive for this classic locale due to the small imperfections, ex. Clive Queit, with his label.
Grossular
stock #17.AL-512
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.5 x 3 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $240
Fall 2015

The Grossular Garnets of the Jeffrey Quarry are highly respected and desired. Top specimens can command huge sums. This small miniature is fine, gem clear with good color, form and condition yet is quite affordable. The crystals are gem clear and have super bright luster. A few small Pectolite crystals are seen on the back side as well. In excellent condition, at 10X magnification the Garnets are undamaged.

From a one time find at the Jeffrey mine came some unusual gemmy pink Grossular garnets. This specimen is in fine condition, the main display face is undamaged, a few edge crystals have chips seen only with 10X magnification. This small display piece has bright glassy luster and good transparency on the crystals.
