Fluorite w. Pyrite
stock #ALEC-20-070
Ladywash Mine, Eyan
Derbyshire, England
11.4 x 9.6 x 5.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $460
Post Tucson 2015

English (Derbyshire) Fluorite with great esthetics and in fine condition. An old specimen (comes with a label from Commercial Mineral corp. vintage 1965) There are small sharp Pyrites and Calcites scattered on many faces. No mine name is on the old label but we are assured this is a fine example from the Ladywash mine in Eyan. Sharp edged zoned crystals to 6.8 CM are large for the area and overall this is an attractive Fluorite in finme shape
Cuprian Smithsonite on Willemite
stock #15.1-340
Tsumeb
Otavi-Bergland district, Oshikoto, Namibia
6.4 x 5.3 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $780
Post Tucson 2015

A very fine Tsumeb specimen with excellent zoned Smithsonite crystals on a contrasting matrix. This flat matrix displays well on both sides, it can be difficult to decide which is the better face to present. The "rear" has a huge stepped, etched Smithsonite crystal that is 2.4 CM across, the front shows several smaller, textbook perfect color-zoned crystals. Very esthetic and in fine condition.
Schorl and Goshenite (Colorless Beryl)
stock #Alec 14-279
Erongo mountain, Usakos and Omaruru districts
Erongo region, Namibia
4.9 x 4.7 x 3.2 CM (miniature)
price: $360
Post Tucson 2015

Superb clear colorless beryl (Goshenite) crystals are scattered on a series of radiating sprays of shining black Schorl. The overall effect is striking and the beryl crystals are perfectly clear. Goshenite is surprisingly rare as almost a;ll Beryl has some color. The condition of this is good overall but a few Schorl have tip damage that is seen in the photos. The Beryl however is all perfect and with glasslike luster. Classic and attractive Erongo material.
Peridot (Forsterite) large gem crystal

Sappat, Manshera Naran-Kagan Valley, Kohistan District
North West Frontier Province, Pakistan
4 x 3.3 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $550
Post Tucson 2015

A big, hefty (46 grams) compound Peridot crystal with fine color and facet grade interior. Typical of crystals that reach this size there are several areas of edgewear and rounding of corners. The overall form is fairly good and this is an above average quality specimen from this area, vintage 1990's.
Silver (crystallized wire with
stock #Alec 16-170
New Nevada Mine, Cerro San Antonio, Batopilas
Chihuahua, Mexico
5.1 x 1.5 x 1.3 CM (miniature)
price: $480
Post Tucson 2015

A delicate, elegantly formed Silver wire rising from a nest of smaller wires and and Calcite in an esthetic form. Close examination shows perfect tiny crystals of Silver in dendritic, spinel twin and "herringbone" habits on all the wires. From the Batopilas area which is a modern classic locale, this shows well many of the unique habits that are distinctive from here.
Grossular on Diopside
stock #Alec-32-047
Eden Mills Quarries, Lowell & Eden
Vermont, United States
4.1 x 3.4 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $1950
Post Tucson 2015

A superb gem Grossular Garnet from the legendary "Eden Mills" (Belvedere-Lowell) locale. Top color and clarity, this specimen hosts several brilliant Grossular with the rich deep red color that is so highly sought after. This could be trimmed to fine competitive thumbnail but to me it is fine as is. This level of quality was never common when the mine was working, these are now almost impossible to find. The largest garnet is 1.2 CM across and is pristine. Other gem garnets on the specimen have inclusions or contacts from Diopside crystals that form most of the matrix. A very fine and choice specimen that is far more eyecatching than its size suggests.
Elbaite on Lepidolite
stock #Alec 19-320
Urubu Mine, Monte Bello, Itinga, Jequitinhonha Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
6.5 x 3.7 x 2.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $400
Post Tucson 2015

From a find in the late 1990's this is a zoned "catseye" Tourmaline with gem clear green termination. The bottom termination of the main crystal shows the hollow interior with fine fibrous Elbaite that gives the catseye effect. Very attractive and nicely composed the condition is very good, in the photos most of what may look like chipping is small contacts that show some recrystallization. A good value with a main 5.8 cm Tourmaline well presented.
Spinel
stock #15.1-324
Kayauk-saung
Mogok, Burma (Myanmar)
2.3 x 1.7 x 1.7 (thumbnail)
price: $600
Post Tucson 2015

Superb color, this super sharp octahedron is brilliant Ruby red on contrasting white Marble matrix. Fine classic Mogok thumbnail specimen, this has visual impact far greater than its size. In excellent condition as seen, this level of quality is not common at all.
