Chabazite (very rare color, gemmy yellow crystals)
stock # stock #AC-053
Wasson's Bluff
Nova Scotia, Canada
7.8 x 5 cm (cabinet)
price: $250

Bright, lustrous, gemmy lemon yellow Chabazite crystals are scattered in an open vug segment. Very unusual color and clarity, this specimen was collected sometime before 1940. The typical color for Chabazite from Nova Scotia is salmon to orange red and is opaque to slightly translucent. These are glass clear, gemmy and up to .8 cm. Esthetic and an important Canadian specimen.
Fluorite on Quartz
stock #7-13-592
De'an Mine
Jiangxi, China
11.4 x 10 cm (cabinet)
price: $390

Two deep purple cubo-octahedrons etched from the quartz matrix are well placed and displayed with great form and contrast. In fine condition with no damage, however the fluorites do show some stress cracks as do almost all of these. Some color changes can be noted in this fluorite in different light sources.
Dravite (unusual gem clear crystal)
stock #14.1-049
Namalulu, Simanjiro District
Manyara Region, Tanzania
3.8 x 1.1 x .8 CM (miniature)
price: $340

From recent finds of Dravite in Tanzania, this is a very sharp, lustrous and surprisingly gemmy single crystal. Deep red brown color in excellent condition this glows with a backlight, in normal lighting it looks darker, more like the photos shown here.
Braunite (exceptional) with Andradite, Calcite
stock #Alec 14-263
N'Chwanning111 Mine, Kahlahari Mg Filed,
Kuruman, South Africa
10.2 x 6.5 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $900
Spring 2014

A superb, large, well crystallized plate of this very rare mineral with unusually big and super lustrous crystals. The Braunites are clustered on a matrix that also host some bright, glassy calcite crystals and a few clusters of Andradite. This is simply the best specimen of this mineral I have seen for sale. Braunites reach .8CM size most of which are perfectly undamaged tho there is some chipping best noted with magnification. The overall quality and size for this rare specimen is simply extraordinary.
Grossular V. Hessonite
stock #Alec-14-215
Vesper Peak, Sultan Dist., Snohomish Co.
Washington, United States
4.9 x 3 x 2.7CM (miniature)
price: $400
Spring 2014

Sizable, glassy crystals in a esthetic cluster with rich, bright color. Sharp and attractive this is an excellent specimen with transparent to translucent Garnets in fine condition. Way better than most from this locale and far better than the photos show!
Jacobsite on and in Calcite (exceptional)
stock #Alec 14-261
N'Chwanning II Mine, Kalahari Manganese Filed
Kuruman, South Africa
7.5 x 5.8 x 4 CM (cabinet)
price: $950
Spring 2014

A world class specimen of this rare mineral! Big (up to 7CM) Calcite crystals are the matrix for hundreds of sparkling, lustrous Jacobsite crystals. Jacobsite is rarely found much bigger than micro sized. The best come from the Kalahari and this has by far the best esthetics I have ever seen. Sharp, bright groups of silvery-black crystals are nicely scattered on the contrasting Calcite. The Calcite is in excellent condition and the dark Jacobsite can be clearly seen inside the crystals. Rare black minerals are reputed to be ugly, this is not!
Wulfenite and Barite
stock #Alec -22-072
San Francisco Mine, Cucurpe
Sonora, United States
5.3 x 4.8 x 4.1 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $440
Spring 2014

A sharp and very esthetic specimen in above average condition. Crystals of glassy yellow Wulfenite to 2.5 CM are intermixed and nestled amongst blades and rosettes of pale blue-white Barite. Great contrast and a good display piece from a modern classic locale. Some edge chipping (as is typical in these) but is not very noticable.
Wulfenite with Mimetite
stock #Alec 22-069
San Francisco Mine, Cucurpe
Sonora, Mexico
5 x 4.4 x 3.5 CM (miniature)
price: $330
Spring 2014

A complex, pretty jumble of sharp lustrous bright orange Wulfenites with lots of Mimetite balls mixed in. Way better in person, a modern Classic! Above average quality but this has edge damage and chipping as usually seen on these delicate specimens. Not for perfectionists, however the damage is not glaring, overall condition is much better than typical, and the price is far less as a result of it. In most displays the piece will look like a much more expensive specimen.
