||Chalcopyrite (fine Euhedral crystals)
Commodore Mine, Creede, Mineral County
Colorado, United States
5.5 x 4.1 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
An extraordinary, sharp and brilliant Chalcopyrite from the classic Creede district. Chalcopyrite is a delicate, brittle mineral that rarely survives without damage, it is quite rare to find really good crystal specimens. This is a very fine example with rich patina and form, individual crystals reach 2.2 CM and the overall condition is outstanding, no eye visible damage! Fine piece for the locality and for the specie.
