Northern Cape Province, South Africa
2.7 x 1.5 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $1650
Spring 2013

This is the form and color that made Hotazel famous as a great mineral locality! A killer small specimen with sharp crystals in great condition. Ex Larry White Collection. Often specimens from this find typically have several broken or cleaved tips (and yet can still be very very expensive!) The main crystals on this are fully terminated (no cleaves) with 15x magnification a tiny cleave is found on the back side of an accessory crystal. Great impact, condition and value!
Olmiite
stock #Alec-11-003
Khalahari Manganese Field
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
7.5 x 6.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $300
Spring 2013

An unusually esthetic and perfectly undamaged specimen of this remarkable and previously very rare, mineral. Excellent luster and sparkle, this shows textbook perfect bowties 2.5CM (1 inch) nicely placed on matrix. Far better than the average quality, displays very well.
Quartz
stock #ALEC-4-592
Orange River, North Cape Province
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
3.8 x 3.2 x 3.0 (miniature)
price: $475
Spring 2013

Super bright color! From the small find that made a lot of news. Very cute red-orange quartz cluster. A small white area on the tip that looks like damage but is actually a clear quartz overgrowth. The only damage is at the base contact area, this has a lot of impact for the small size. These were selling for very high prices shortly after the find, this is a very good value for one of these.
Rhodochrosite (scalenohedral gem crystals)
stock #ALEC-5-057
Wessel's Mine, Hotazel, Northern Kalahari Mn Fields
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
3.3 x 2.3 CM (miniature)
price: $1300

A brilliant, deep red, gem clear cluster of scalenhedral Rhodos from the one time find at Wessels mine. A modern classic location, these Rhodos are instantly recognizable and very desirable. This specimen displays well, overall in very good condition, there are some cleaves that must be noted as is common but minimally visible from display side. A great value for a very striking, bright and lusterous gem Rhodo!
