Wulfenite
stock #6.2-939
Hilltop mine (Hand Mine),Rustier Park, Chiricahua Mts. Cochise Co.
Arizona, United States
7.1 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $750

Outstanding rich yellow color crystals to 2 cm from this important, classic American mine. Hilltop Wulfenites are quite desirable and the best have this lemon to orange- yellow color. This one was part of the famous find by Ed Over that was sold as a lot to the Schortman Brothers thru Arthur Montgomery who then distributed these worldwide. The piece has some damaged crystals that are visible in the photos but it still has an attractive presentation. Top examples of these are incredibly hard to find and very expensive, this one with some damage is still far above average and at a very reasonable price.
Purple Scapolite gem crystal
stock #7-PAK-011
Kohistan District
North West Frontier Province, Pakistan
3.3CM X 7 MM (miniature)
price: $200

A very attractive light lilac/ violet gem crystal of Scapolite from this important locality. This is actually 2 crystals grown together with the terminations staggered and showing great glasslike luster. No damage by naked eye but with 10X magnification there are some very tiny contacts and a very insignificant chip that need to be mentioned. A very nice example of a mineral that is usually quite nondescript!
Fluorite (modified cubes)
stock #7 JF-115
Mina la Viesca, La Collada
Asturias, Spain
10.6 X 6 CM (cabinet)
price: $300

Fine and damage free cabinet of rich violet fluorites showing several types of modifications. Overall this is an attractive and clean piece and the main crystals are all pristine. There are some neat structures where the cubes have stacked geometrically. A super value on a very good Spanish Fluorite likely found about 1960.
Amethyst
stock #7 BRAZ 212
Irai, Alto Urugual region
Rio Grande do Sul, South Region, Brazil
12 x 9 CM (cabinet)
price: $450

Two of the most perfect radiating clusters (suns) I have ever seen are joined together in an impressive and esthetic piece of glasslike quartz. No damage at all, a fine purple hue that grades to a clear outer edge the piece is fully transparent and glows with even a hint of backlight. Do not confuse this with some of the mine run examples that are typical of this material, this is a very fine mineral specimen and a fantastic quartz for a fine collection.
Fluorite (
stock #7 AC-134
Huayllapon Mine, Pasto Bueno District
Pallasca Province, Ancash Department, Peru
12.8 x 8.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $650

A large and fine single Octahedron of mint green Fluorite with the very desirable "stipple faced" or melted look on the crystal faces. This Alpine Fluorite is sizable and impressive from a location that has not produced good material for many years. Pasto Bueno Fluorites are quite highly regarded, and and also rather distinctive. This one is in fine shape on the display side but it is cleaved where it was removed on the underside. Displays very well and a bargain for such a large crystal.
SOLD Quartz (flattened and tapered prism)
stock #SOLD 8.1-020
Ganesh Himal
Dhading, Nepal
17.2 CM X4 CM (cabinet)
price: $800

A very gemmy alpine style quartz with an unusual flattened habbit. This is a superb prism and quite unlike any others from this find, it has only a minimal dusting of Chlorite or epidote on two faces the rest is like fine optical glass. This could pass for a top European alpine quartz, but it is Asian. With fabulous form this will be welcomed in any fine suite of quartz.
Amazonite (microcline)
stock #7 COLO-502
Lake George, Park County
Colorado, United States
6.4x 5.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $350

A single crystal of the "white stripe" find showing excellent color and form. No damage (except on the base where it was removed) and just a tiny hint of matrix. This is a very good American classic locality and an esthetic crystal.
Pyrite (striated cubes)
stock #7- AC 180
Huanzala Mine, Huallanca district
Dos de Mayo Province, Huanuco Department, Peru
11.8 x 9.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $550

An fine, unusual and well balanced older piece from what has become a very famous mine for great pyrites. This form is not like the material that Huanzala has produced for the past decade, this has sharp slightly modified cubes showing pronounced striations. There are many great forms that Huanzala has produced and some fine suites have been developed to showcase them. This would be a fine addition to such a suite, or for any collection of good esthetic minerals. The cubes are sizable, the largest 6.5 CM. Minimal damage, the main crystals are very clean, there is some chipping and periferal damage on the rear and lower areas, despite that it is still very esthetic and presentable.
