Chabazite var. Phacolite
stock #AE11-07W
Flinders Area
Victoria,
Australia
13.2 x10 CM (cabinet)
price: $160
A large fine plate generously covered with sparkling gemmy crystals, ex Elling collection. Both sides of this curved matrix are covered with these Chabazites, the largest is 1 cm but most are about 5-6mm. A slight bluish tint is visible but otherwise these are near colorless, glasslike and in perfect condition. A fine Australian example of this less common form of Chabazite that is quite showy.
An excellent miniature with fantastic contrast and deep green fire color. The single emerald crystal (1.2 CM) is doubly terminated, one end with a classic basal form, the other is complex and partly contacted. The dark matrix is a druze of calcite and a few larger clear dolomite crystals that act as a strong color contrast to the deep green of the emerald. A striking piece, the crystal has no damage under 10x magnification. Well below market price for this level of esthetics!
An excellent small miniature with intense color and top shelf form. The Emerald here is 1.8 CM long, rich deep green (far better than shows on my monitor) and very sharp with glass like lustre. By naked eye this is no visible damage but a 10X magnification shows tiny chipping at the rear, contacting or zones of interrupted growth and rough areas near the base of the crystal. Still a fine quality display piece for any level of collection.
Beryl v. Emerald

Cosquez
Boyaca,
Colombia
6.2 x 4.8 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $1300
A very impressive specimen! The Emerald is of the fatter type with basel termination, excellent clarity, and good but not superb color (which is why this large crystal was not cut but survived as an affordable specimen). Sits well and draws the eye from across the room. A quite large crystal for a matrix piece from this mine (2.2 x 1.7 CM). Good condition, there are micro chips but no real damage, the "bottom end" of the crystal is contacted and does not show a clear termination. This quality is now very hard to get iCn olombia. A lot of good green glass for the money!
Rhodonite (large single crystal) with Galena
stock #8- AUS-1049
Broken Hill, Yancowinna County
New South Wales,
Australia
5.5 x 2.7 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $1400
Ex Fred Pough and G. Elling collections. A big, complete, dark red crystal in pristine condition. Translucent with gemmy areas, the Rhomb has the classic association of bright silvery galena on all faces. A classic locale, the best of Broken Hill Rhodonite was unrivaled until the more recent finds in Peru. This is far better than average and with simply super esthetics. These are rarely found on the market today in sizes larger than thumbnails, this is exceptional.
SOLD Fluorite with Siderite and Quartz
stock #SOLD 0470-JM-3538
Athens ine, Palmer, Marquette County
Michigan,
United States
7.8 x 4.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $350
A fine example of a rare good quality Fluorite from Michigan, ex. John H. Marshall Collection. Light mint green Fluorite cubes to 1 CM in size are on and partly overgrown by Siderite. The matrix is nearly pure Siderite and the Fluorites very glasslike. Minor edge chips seen with close examination but the largest prominent crystals are fine.
SOLD Rosalite (unusually large crystals)
stock #SOLD 11.1-W13
Aghbar Mine,Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Quarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region,
Morocco
7.1 x 3.6 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $850
The worlds best specimens of Roselite have come sporadically from Morocco, but only a small percentage of these are superb. It is a rare mineral from anyplace else but can be an attractive specie. This one is exceptional in quality and esthetics, with the biggest crystals I have seen- up to 1.5 cm and sharp! The color and luster are also excellent. There is tiny chipping seen with the aid of 10x magnification to a few crystals and crystals at the outer edges show damage from where the piece was removed but the center and all the major crystals are perfectly undamaged and gemmy. Overall it is very showy and outstanding for the specie.
An attractive calcite from the now classic location in North Vernon, Indiana. The two main crystals here (2.6 CM each) are glass clear, gemmy and enclose masses of sparkling chalcopyrite/ pyrite. There is some evidence of selective zoning in the inclusions, and the calcites are undamaged. Looks great by naked eye and mesmerizing with magnification! The best known calcite from here is golden yellow on light matrix, but this colorless type with inclusions is much less common. A very good value, great for any Calcite suite!
