Pyromorphite
Level 9, Jersey Vein, Bunker Hill Mine, Kellogg, Coeur dAlene District,
Idaho, United States
5.7 x 4.4 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $1350
Spring 2020
Well formed "wet look" crystals of green and orange Pyromorphite clustered on a contrasting matrix. From the great finds at Bunker Hill Mine, this is a very fine example with especially bright luster and top form. Individual crystals reach to 1.3 cm and are in fine condition. The orange color crystals are much less common and are sometimes called Arsenian Pyromorphite, although there may not be much or any Arsenic in them. Sharp deep orange crystals are quite rare, most are more botryoidal and do not have sharp faces. This specimen does have some small but clearly sharp prismatic orange crystals. Overall very esthetic.
