SOLD Chrysocolla - unusual forms with Quartz coating
Ball Park Bench, Ray Mine, Scott Mountain, Pinal County
Arizona, United States
3.1 x 1.6 x 1.4 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $0
Early summer 2021

A bizzare and complex cluster of slender fingers and twisted stalactitic growths of Chrysocolla. These are coated with a thin layer of translucent Quartz, the whole specimen glows bright blue when backlit. The growths are especially slender on this piece and show several habits. This comes from a recently rediscovered old stock of the 1978 find at the Ray Mine. This is a choice example with a fine quality rarely available. A classic for Arizona and the USA collected from the Ball Park Bench find. Amazingly delicate forms, yet all the tendrils are in perfect, undamaged condition. Unique and oddly esthetic.
