Vesuvianite - classic multi-color crystals
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
4.1 x 2.3 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $1750
Fall 22

Vesuvianite crystals with green outer areas and rose to violet middles. Very lustrous, glassy and well-formed, the crystals are in parallel position and show a cascade of termination faces. In outstanding condition, no visible damage, the crystals are translucent and will glow with backlighting. This looks fine on all sides. From a find over 20 years ago at the famed Jeffrey Mine which had been the source of the world's best Vesuvianite. The mine has been closed for many years and nothing will ever again be produced again. Even though Vesuvianite is not a very rare mineral, these vivid colors and forms do not exist anyplace else on earth. Fine specimens from these unique finds at Jeffrey have become very hard to find, especially in this quality and condition.
