Weloganite (huge crystal) with Sphalerite, Quartz etc. in matrix.
stock #15.1-884
Francon Quarry, Montreal
Quebec, Canada
8 x 5.8 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $8500
Fall 2015

A killer, world-class and huge Weloganite, one of the largest crystals found, with exceptional display esthetics. The crystal is 4.8 CM tall. For what it is worth, this is the best cabinet matrix specimen that I have ever seen, and I prefer it to the well-known published single crystals. In very good condition, the matrix is sawn on the back and base, not seen on display side. Tiny doubly terminated Quartz and what seems to be Sphalerite micros with some bright golden Marcasite are noted in the vug where this grew. A few small Quartz also are on the right side of the crystal just below the termination and add a little extra sparkle. Fine creamy yellow color and good luster give the Weloganite contrast from the matrix. It is very rare that we offer specimens of such stature on our website, we usually sell this quality at major shows or in private sales. This is an experiment to explore the possibility of presenting more top quality or rare specimens in this way.

Grossular on Diopside
stock #15.1-341
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
6.8 x 4.7 x 2.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $550
Fall 2015

Gemmy, sharp and colorful, these garnets are a bright tangerine to pinkish in hue. These contrast with the green Diopside crystals that cover the display face. The main crystals are in perfect condition, there is some minor damage at the outside edges. Displays very well, these Jeffrey specimens are modern classics. The mine is closed forever but these specimens are now prized as some of the best ever found.

Serandite with Natrolite etc.
stock #AX-16-174
Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire
Quebec, Canada
4.3 x 2.8 x 2.7 CM (miniature)
price: $280
Fall 2015

Colorful and complex specimen with several Serandite crystals in different habits mixed with an assemblage of classic MSH minerals. Loaded with many small crystals on all sides this has the deeper orange color of early finds that is unlike the later pinkish ones.

Vesuvianite
stock #15.1-319
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
3.6 x 3 x 1.6 CM (miniature)
price: $280
Fall 2015

A colorful, bright and fine small miniature of glass-like Vesuvianites from the Jeffrey Mine. The color, luster and esthetics are excellent. This quality in a cabinet specimen would be several thousand dollars. Some areas of contact are noted with magnification and some old recrystallized breaks as well. All the main crystals are pristine and undamaged. Better in person

Vesuvianite
stock #17.1-510
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
3.5 x 2.2 x .8 CM (miniature)
price: $220
Fall 2015

Green crystals of translucent Vesuvianite with zones of red-pink on some tips in a spray or treelike cluster. A nice, esthetic example - sadly with some tiny chips (not easily seen but they are there) that keeps the price low. A good, colorful display specimen from the best locale (Jeffrey Mine) that looks like it costs a lot more.

Grossular
stock #17.1-512
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
3.5 x 3 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $240
Fall 2015

The Grossular Garnets of the Jeffrey Quarry are highly respected and desired. Top specimens can command huge sums. This small miniature is fine, gem clear with good color, form and condition yet is quite affordable. The crystals are gem clear and have super bright luster. A few small Pectolite crystals are seen on the back side as well. In excellent condition, at 10X magnification the Garnets are undamaged.

Grossular (rare pink color crystals)
stock #17.1-511
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
2.9 x 3.2 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $360
Fall 2015

From a one time find at the Jeffrey Mine came some unusual gemmy pink Grossular garnets. This specimen is in fine condition, the main display face is undamaged, a few edge crystals have chips seen only with 10X magnification. This small display piece has bright glassy luster and good transparency on the crystals.

Epidote
stock #13.1-353
Malone Quarries, Hastings Co.
Ontario, Canada
3.5 x 2.9 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $130
May 2015

Sharp. clean prismatic Epidote crystals from a less known locality. Crystals are well terminated and reach 2.5 CM in length. The only noticable damage is on the outside edges where this was removed, otherwise this is in quite good condition.
