Fluorite
stock #16.1-737
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5.3 x 3.2 x 2.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $390
Pre Tucson

An above average bright yellow Fluorite from Aouli (Morocco). The matrix between the yellow cubes is also Fluorite but a red-orange color and not well crystalized. The matrix gives a very nice color contrast to the main crystals. In very good condition, the corners and edges of the Fluorites are sharp and well-defined. A crack is noted on the largest crystal, it is not repaired and is all natural with no sign of damage. Found about 5 years ago, this has a different look from more recent finds.

Fluorite - penetration twins
stock #16.1-740
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5.5 x 4.3 x 2.7 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $380
Spring 23

Bright yellow, transparent to translucent cubes of Fluorite that look a lot like Hilton Mine (England) specimens, but are in fact Moroccan. This shows a very nice penetration twin as well much like British pieces. Good Hilton Mine pieces are highly prized and pricey, this piece is in fine condition, has great esthetics, and is far more affordable. When lit by strong illumination the orange brown matrix on the backside can be seen through the yellow crystals. This is a very choice piece from this find in 2017.

Fluorite on Quartz
stock #22.1-548
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
4.8 x 3.1 x 3 CM (miniature)
price: $160
Spring 23

Bright yellow Fluorites on contrasting reddish druzy Quartz. The main Fluorite is elongated and gem clear; a very glassy contrast to the matrix. Close exam shows many odd inclusions in the crystals, but overall this a simply a cute, colorful and affordable Fluorite.

Fluorite
stock #16.1-735
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
6.8 x 4.7 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $380
Post Tucson 2022

Very sharp and perfectly defined Fluorite cubes perched on matrix. The Fluorites from this find have been called "pineapple" color and do look like that, having a slight zoning of bright yellow to a darker orange hue. This is from a small but very impressive pocket found in 2015. The largest crystal is 2.6 CM on the diagonal, all are translucent to somewhat transparent and have a slightly satin luster. Much better than typical from this find, an attractive and colorful Fluorite.

Psilomelane - iridescent, on Barite
stock #0345-JM-3890
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
8.8 x 5.8 x 4.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Early summer 2021

A complex stalactitic and botryoidal growth of Psilomelane on Barite with colorful iridescence. This looks otherworldly in person like something in a science fiction film. The dark masses of Psilomelane have both a dull and a metallic luster that is impressive with bright lighting. This contrasts well with the cream colored Barites. From Aouli in Morocco, this was in the John Marshall collection since 2000 and is one of the best examples I have seen of the specie from that region.

Fluorite with Barite overgrowths
stock #19.1-090
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
9.3 x 5.9 x 4.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $350
new year 2021

A very attractive cluster of yellow Fluorite cubes with a blanket covering of bright pink Barite. From a small find two years ago in Aouli, Morocco, these were first sold incorrectly as being Rhodochrosites on Fluorite. Despite the wrong information, these Fluorites are very colorful and have unusual color contrast. I have not seen any like this since.

Fluorite - distinct phantoms
stock #16.1-739
Aouli. Midelt, Khenifra Province
Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5 x 4.2 x 2.9 CM (small cabinet/large miniature)
price: $330
Worldwide mix summer

Impressive and clear, these are very sharp purple phantoms inside bright yellow Fluorite cubes. We have seen hundreds of Aouli Fluorites but never this quality of phantom. Overall sharp and displays well but not a piece for perfectionists, there are small nicks and cleaves. Despite that there is strong impact for color, form and the distinct phantoms stand out well.
