7.4 x 5.6 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Late Summer 2021
A fine and unusually esthetic Conichalcite from the mid 1970 finds at the legendary Mina Ojuela. This piece looks great on three sides, the Conichalcite forms vivid small green spheres some with clear sharp Calcite crystals. On one face of the specimen the Conichalcite balls have formed selectively over Goethite rods or "fingers". On another side the Calcites have grown over the Conichalcites which allow the bright green color to shine through. Conichalcite is not rare from Ojuela but such large, showy and esthetic specimens are rare. Excellent example of this important specie and very fine for this classic mine as well.
Mimetite with Wulfenite and Calcite
stock #15.1-536
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango,
Mexico
10.3 x 5.8 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Early summer 2021
Green botryoidal Mimetite is decorated with a few blocky orange-yellow Wulfenites in an open seam. A choice example of this habit and association from Mina Ojuela (Mexico) from the earlier finds in the late 1970's. The matrix is a spongy microcrystaline Mimetite / Wulfenite as well, but outside of the open cavity the color is a less attractive brown and more dull luster. The seam also holds a few Calcite crystals in flattened rhomb form as well. Green Mimetite in this form is somewhat less common than the yellow worldwide.
Adamite - gemmy balls
stock #10.1-172
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango,
Mexico
5.3 x 4.3 x 2.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Early summer 2021
Lustrous green spherical clusters of Adamite crystals contrasting with a dark gossan matrix. An esthetic yet affordable Adamite, this is also intensely fluorescent. Adamites have been found for decades at Mina Ojuela and are common in the mineral market. Good complete balls are much more rare and the vivid green is especially choice. These balls are translucent to transparent, glassy, apple green and have a "wet-look" luster. A choice piece and better in person.

Remarkable esthetics, a bright white radiating cluster of bladed Hemimorphite crystals set in a sculptural Gossan matrix. The matrix is quite unusual being a series of concentric half spherical voids or cups which are all empty except one with the flower-like spray perched in the center. There has been thousands of Hemimorphite specimens found over the years at Mina Ojuela, it takes something very special to stand out in the crowd. This is such a piece with excellent form and bright luster on the Hemimorphite blades.

A very colorful Aurichalcite specimen that was in the collection of Warren Johannson. The Aurichalcite is seen through a lustrous clear layer of Calcite that has crystallized on top. The Aurichalcite is clearly seen through the Calcite and the whole is vividly colored. An older Ojuela specimen from the late 1960 era.
Adamite on Goethite
stock #17.1-553
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi

Mexico
5.3 x 3.7 x 2.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $250
new year 2021
Adamite crystals with glassy luster and classic bipyramidal form in dense cluster on Gossan matrix. One "finger" of Adamite has fully encased a knob of Goethite adding a nice 3 dimensional touch. Pale green-yellow color, good fluorescence and damage-free in the center areas with just typical edge breaks on the outer margins. Since the Ojuela Mine has produced so much nice Adamite, good specimens in many colors continue to be a very good value for collectors.
Rosasite

6.8 x 5.7 x 2.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $260

A flat matrix with one face well covered with botryoidal Rosasite balls. Excellent velvet luster and sheen, the color grades from a dark green to a lighter blue green. This is the old style of Rosasite from the 1960's the matrix is a soft gossan but is quite stable. The color and luster of a good Rosasite should look like this. This locality at one time produced lots of this distinctive Copper specie and some small finds still pop up, it has made these an excellent value for such an esthetic mineral.
A cute and colorful miniature from the great Mina Ojuela. Transparent Calcites are included by a fibrous Malachite and sit on a mixture of botryoidal Conichalcite and Malachite. This could be trimmed to a thumbnail size but this is very nice as is. In fine condition as seen, this is a very good example of an esthetic but affordable specimen, carefully selected from amongst a huge number of average level specimens.
