Inesite with Barite
stock #A-14-326
N Chwaning Mine, Kalahari Fields, Kuruman
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
6.6 x 5.4 x 4.2 (cabinet)
price: $1150
Pre Holiday 2017

A dense mat of sharp pink to orange Inesite crystals covers most of a matrix which also hosts several clear Barite crystals. In excellent condition, from the classic NChwaning mine, this has fine luster and displays super well. The find of Inesite more than a decade ago has not been repeated, these rank as some of the best specimens ever found. This is a top percentile specimen, with strong display impact. Choice, and now very rare on the market.

Brucite on Andradite
stock #16.1-326
N Chwaning Mine, Kalahari Fields, Kuruman
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
7.8 x 6.4 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $700
Spring 2017

A pearly-blue ball of Brucite crystals sits neatly on top of a contrasting Andradite matrix. An attractive setting for this usually unimpressive mineral, this is quite esthetic and in fine condition. The matrix is well-crystallized on all sides, so it is a floater and the Garnets are especially lustrous on the back side. This would be a really nice specimen of Andradite on its own, but with the Brucite this is especially choice.

Olmiite with Calcite
stock #AX-14-260
N Chwaning Mine, Kalahari Fields, Kuruman
Kuruman, South Africa
9 x 6.8 x 6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1250
Spring 2014

A large and esthetic 3-D cluster of Olmiite in "wet look" aggregates with a pinkish color. Far better that the average, this is an even more special specimen due to the well placed clear clusters of Calcites in parallel growth. The Calcite is in doubly terminated prisms that look very much like Quartz and have similar glassy luster. Olmiite was unknown as a mineral until 2006, it is only found at this one location worldwide. This piece displays well, is undamaged and presents from several angles.
