Chrysoberyl - twinned crystals
stock #20.1-815
Espirito Santo, Brazil
2.3 x 1.5 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $380
new year 2021

Fine thumbnail of Brazilian Chrysoberyl. A crystal cluster vintage 1948 with a dated but badly tattered Shortmann's Minerals label included that puts this piece at the very beginning of Brazilian specimens being exported. Good glassy luster, translucent to gemmy transparent areas and nice green-yellow color with classic twinned forms. Some reddish inclusions are seen that add a little contrast but no matrix, a floater this is complete all around. The original label is spelled Collentina which is not correct but this misspelling was used by both Arthur Montgomery and Alan Kaplan at that time. Either person could have been the source of this piece.

Chrysoberyl - twinned crystal on matrix
stock #15.1-836
Espirito Santo, Brazil
4 x 2.6 x 3.8 CM (miniature)
price: $350
Fall 2015

A classic form for Chrysoberyl showing an inverted V twin well-exposed on matrix. From the finds in the 90's at Colatina, this is a sharp crystal in fine condition. Hard to find any of quality on the market now, this has textbook form. Perfect by naked eye, some micro contacting (mostly on the back side) is evident with magnification.

Beryl (slender, tapered termination gem crystal)
stock #A7-056-(693)
Espirito Santo, Brazil
4 x .5 CM (miniature)
price: $250
Spring 2013

From an old small find of these exotic, tapered habit gem Beryls, this is a very nice, clean example. Excellent condition, with great texture, color and form, this is not a typical Beryl at all! Ex Larry White collection.
