Pfaffenberg Mine, Neudorf, Harzgerode, Harz Mts.
Saxony- Anhalt,
Germany
2.6 x 2.1 x 2.2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $480
New Year 22
A superb classic thumbnail specimen from the famed Neudorf area, best known for world-class Galenas and rarely some great Bournonites. In flawless undamaged condition. These Bournonites are bright, lustrous metallic crystals on a matrix of sparkling white Quartz that is also the host for fine Siderite crystals. This can be displayed in several orientations, it is almost impossible to find a choice thumbnail like this from Neudorff today. A few earlier labels are included, this sort of specimen is certainly very old.
Senarmontite - type locality
stock #20.FC-079A-(9190)
Djebel Hammimat Mine, Ain Babouche District
Oum el Bouaghi Province,
Algeria
1.8 x 1.6 x 1.5 CM largest (thumbnail)
price: $360
New Year 22
A pair of sharp and very large Senarmontite crystals with classic form from the type locality. This rare Antimony Oxide was found sporadically between 1850 to 1950 at this locality by the French Geological exploration group BRGM. These remain as the best and largest crystals of this specie. These crystals are far larger than average at this locale and are well-defined. Worldwide Senarmontite is found in just a few other Antimony deposits, usually as micro-sized octahedra not often much larger than 1-2MM. Very fine for the specie and not often available, Ex Paul Sainfeld and Tunisian Geological Service collections.
Witherite
stock #21.1-323
Minerva Mine #1, Rosiclare Level, Cave in Rock
Illinois,
United States
3.2 x 2.9 x 1.8 CM (thumbnail)
price: $300
Late Summer 2021
Textbook perfect form and top quality Witherite crystal on matrix from the Minerva Mine. It is not often we see a super Witherite in thumbnail size, this is in perfect condition, no damage and looks fine from any angle. The form of this piece looks much like a classic English Witherite but it is from Illinois where this is a quite rare habit. There were just two important localities for fine Witherites worldwide, Cumbria in the UK and the Minerva Mine in the USA. Both locales are now classics and neither produces anything today. This piece is also intensely fluorescent.

Orange River, Namakwa
Northern Cape Province,
South Africa
3.6 x 1.4 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $145
Late Summer 2021
A cute thumbnail with transparent, colorless Fluorites that have vivid purple cores or phantoms. These are all clustered on two faces of a clear Quartz crystal. The Quartz and the Fluorites are in fine condition. From a find about 4 years ago in the Orange River region (South Africa) this is just barely a thumbnail but will fit in a perky box.
Fluorite
stock #21.1-339
Cantera Llamas, Duyos, Caravia
Asturias,
Spain
2.9 x 1.8 x 1.8 CM (thumbnail)
price: $480
Late Summer 2021
A pair of edge modified cubes of transparent Fluorite in an esthetic cluster. The condition is incredible with textbook perfect form, the color a light violet and the one crystal is tabular. An excellent large thumbnail, it is hard to capture the clarity and form in photos, in person it is especially impressive. The faces appear glass-like and smooth at first but on close inspection with good lighting the surfaces are covered with tiny geometric growth structures. A few very tiny Fluorite cubes are perched on this as well, and there is a shard of snow-like Quartz matrix that adds a nice sparkle. Aside from a small cleave on the underside of the lower crystal (not visible on display) this is perfect from all points of view, competitive quality.
