HOLD Azurite
stock #HOLD AX-3-027
Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Municipio de Santa Cruz
Sonora, Mexico
5.2 x 3.5 CM (small miniature)
price: $250
Spring 2013

Sharp lustrous blue crystals sprinkled over a whitish matrix. Far better in person, the Azurites have brilliant color. Affordable and a great value for such a cute piece! The Millpillas mine is finished working in the oxidized zone where these are found. Great value.

HOLD Tourmaline (Elbaite)-steeply terminated
stock #HOLD 8 DK-145
Golconda Pegmatite district, Governador Valadares, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3.5 x 2.1 CM (small miniature)
price: $300

Deep gemmy green crystal with very unusual termination much like a Dunton Mine, Maine but still distinctly different. The crystal is a flattened prism and the display side is relatively clean of damage (micro nicks of no real significance) the back and base have contacts and removal damage but it still displays well. It is a good gem crystal with a different look than any I have seen from Golconda.

Fluorite with Acanthite, native Silver, Sphalerite etc.
stock #8.1-311
Wutong Mine, Liubao, Cangwu Co. Wuzoh Pref.
Guangxi Province, China
3.9 x 2.4 CM (small miniature)
price: $200

Clear Fluorites (very light green) are the matrix for Native Silver, Acanthite and other silver minerals. Some of the Fluorite is included by these minerals - it is best appreciated with magnification. A single sharp Sphalerite crystal is partially coated with Acanthite and a film of Silver. Micro-crystals that appear to be Polybasite are also noted. A very different sort of Silver specimen!

HOLD Quartz- black stemmed scepter
stock #HOLD 8.1-021
Treasure Mountain, Little Falls, Herkimer County
New York, United States
3.5 x 1.7 CM (small miniature)
price: $90

The most desirable style of Herkimer "diamonds" is the the Black Stem scepter. These only occur in a single small zone and are not currently being found. This is a good, clean and undamaged example collected in the early 90's. Very distinct phantoming and lots of interesting inclusions.

stock #6.2-893
Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County, Chenzhou Pref.
Hunan Province, China
3.5x3 CM (small miniature)
price: $160

Very bright, metalic and with fine luster, this bournonite miniature shows excellent form with a pleasing contast to the matrix. Much better than usual condition for this delicate, brittle mineral, however there is some chipping and contacting like all of these have. The main crystal shows a fantastic cogswheel form. Since well crystalized Bournonite is very uncommon, the better Chinese examples are already becoming classics. For now, this is a bargain!

HOLD Mimetite
stock #HOLD 7-CNA-434
Pingtouling Mine, Liannan, Sanjiang
Guangdong Province, China
4.3 x 3 CM (small miniature)
price: $350

A very fine small miniature or toenail of excellent quality. The Pingtouling Mine Mimetites are legendary and considered by many to be the best ever found. The mine has been closed for years and nothing new found since. This has fine color and form, displays well and is priced below market levels.
