Copper - dodecahedral crystal with Quartz
stock #15.1-074
Keweenaw Co.
Michigan, United States
4.8 x 3.7 x 2.5 CM (miniature)
price: $380
Fall 2015

A sculptural specimen with a sharp distinct main dodecahedral crystal perched on a Copper stalk. Esthetic and choice old piece that oddly looks like a goose from some angles. Ex. Warren Johannsen collection likely pre 1940 vintage.

Copper and Gold on Quartz
stock #AX-19-322
Andacollo Mine
Elqui Province, Chile
3.6 x 2.3 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $850
May 2015

An exceptionally rare combination of well-crystallized Gold on well crystallized Copper. This is a nice Copper specimen with elongated spinel twin crystals in esthetic curving "horns" and some distinct texahexahedral crystals. What makes it special is the addition of several areas of well-crystallized native Gold. The Gold is best seen with a loupe but some is eye visible with well-developed branching sprays and bright yellow metallic color tucked in several areas on the specimen. This little known mine is one of the few locales that ever produced Gold on Copper, and by far the most attractive. There were not many pieces in the find, these are are now almost impossible to find. This one is the best I have seen.

Copper (flattened octahedral crystal tree form)
stock #A7-048-(647)
White Pine Mine, Ontonagan County
Michigan, United States
8.4 x 6.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Spring 2014

An impressive, fully crystallized "tree" with elegant form and very sharp spinel twin branches. Very few examples are so well-formed, sharp and distinct. A relatively old piece (pre 1965's) from the classic White Pine Mine. The habit and form is unmistakable from this unique deposit. Excellent esthetics and top notch quality that is impossible to find on the market today. Far better in person!

Native Copper (pseudo after Cuprite) w. Malachite and Cuprite
stock #AC-052
Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts., Cochise Co.
Arizona, United States
7.3 x 6.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $360

Another classic Bisbee association, in an unusually fine specimen this is almost all native Copper in crude crystals. The Copper is a pseudomorph after Cuprite, with some unaltered zones and small Cuprite octahedrons that still have red color. Fibrous crystallized Malachite sprays add a rich green color. Magnification reveals some Calcite that is green colored due to the Copper. The definition of this piece is excellent, it is quite old it was sold by Schortmanns in the 60's and comes with that old label.
