Spring update
Brilliant sparkling blue Chrysocolla overgrown by gem clear druzy Quartz. The Chrysocolla has replaced earlier acicular crystals of Malachite. The individual needles reach 1.5 CM A single broken needle off to the side seems to show a core of Dioptase but we are told these are in fact Malachite, the core area is rather gemmy and very bright. No matter what the original material this is very esthetic and totally different from any other Chrysocolla. An attractive, intriguing and unique Copper specimen!

Really fine form and rich color on this specimen from the recent finds at Luputo. The pseudomorph retains the shape of the original Azurite crystals that were rep[laced by Malachite and finally replaced by the blue Chrysocolla. The delicate array of crystals is on a Gossan matrix and in excellent condition despite the fragility. The discovery of this material made big news in the mineral world. This is a choice example with particularly distinct crystal shapes well presented.

May 2015
One of the most exciting new finds this year are these very colorful pseudomorphs from the Congo. This specimen is especially well-formed with big (up to 6.2 cm) sharp crystals showing Azurite form. The crystals are now hollow casts with a small amount of residual Malachite seen inside with magnification. The entire specimen is covered with tiny, sharply terminated crystals of deep blue Chrysocolla. In fine condition esthetic and eye-catching.
