Duftite on and in Calcite
stock #7.AE-018
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
5.3 x 4.6 x 2.3 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $280
Fall 22

A nice combination specimen from Tsumeb. The Calcite is in two generations; the fist is a stack of discrete rhomb crystals that have been coated by green Duftite. The second generation is of tiny clear Calcite crystals that grew over some of the Duftite and add a nice sparkle. Quite esthetic and displays well despite few clean cleaves. Nice color and quality for the price.

Calcite rhombs in a jumbled cluster richly encrusted with Duftite some of which is the matrix for a second generation of tiny Calcites that add a lot of sparkle. Classic Tsumeb piece, in very good condition, the Duftite is in well-formed balls and looks especially bright under magnification.

Duftite on Quartz
stock #17.1-795
Black Pine Mine, Flint Creek Valley, John Long Mts., Granite Co.
Montana, United States
12.8 x 9.3 x 4.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $650

A large plate of Quartz crystals up to 2 CM in size are thickly coated with Duftite in olive-green spheres. An old specimen from the Black Pine Mine that is famed for the great Veszelyite finds there. I have not seen another specimen quite like this from any USA locality it looks like a dark botryoidal Tsumeb Duftite on a Montana Quartz. An unidentified coating of brighter yellow is also present and adds some contrast. it is a very significant and sizable Duftite specimen with a lot of character. In good condition overall there are a few tiny chips on some Quartz but most are perfect and undamaged. The Black Pine mine has a complex and wonderful mineral assemblage including many uncommon associates. This piece is significant for the locale is the best USA Duftite I know of. Ex Chris Amo collection.

Duftite on Calcite
stock #AX-14-309
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
9.8 x 7 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $1400
new june 17

A striking cabinet sized plate of sharp Calcite crystals almost totally encrusted with bright sparkling Duftite micro crystals. In exceptional undamaged condition, Duftite is rare in good display quality specimens but this is a very fine and colorful piece. The individual crystals are more distinct and larger than the more typical Tsumeb smudges. Classic form for the underlying Calcite there is some selective coating noted but overall very little of the white calcite is exposed. Choice.
