A superb gemmy crystal of Natanite on an Ilvaite matrix. Natanite is a very rare Tin specie, almost never seen for sale. The very best specimens came from this one time find at the Potosi Mine in Santa Eulalia, and this is a choice example of that find. Nestled in the Ilvaite crystals on this thumbnail thumbnail is a single transparent to translucent red octahedra than is just under 2mm in size. Ex Peter Megaw and Terry Szenics collections. This sort of specimen is certainly not a "mainstream" mineral so it is not for everyone, but a treasure for a serious specie collection or a suite of rare Mexican minerals.
