A very pretty, unusual Rhodochrosite from an unusual locale. Crystals perched on delicate clusters of small Fluorites, all of which are growing on Quartz crystals in an esthetic array. Fine condition and with great display qualities, this is a very fine miniature and far better in person.

A very esthetic specimen ex. Shields Flynn Collection that presents several disk-like sharp Rhodo crystals (up to 2.6 CM) nicely perched on large quartz prisms. This was from the one time find at Lamo Mine (Quanxi, China)in 2003. Very good contrast and color, the Rhodos are in fine condition as are most of the quartz crystals (only one has some tip bruising). Later finds some 20 KM from this mine produced fine Rhodochrosite which became quite famous but none with this look. This piece was sourced by Bert Ottens and is excellent for this find.
A Colorado classic, the Eagle mine has provided many fine specimens over the years. This is a very good Rhodo with individual sharp rhombs to 2 CM covering most of the surface. Scattered Sphalerites on the display side (and many more on the reverse side) add extra sparkle. It is rare to find examples this good from the location. This old timer is in exceptional condition, all the main rhombs are perfect. A great addition for a Colorado collection or a Rhodochrosite suite.
A large (3.7 CM) rhomb of bright red Rhodo sits neatly on a contrasting matrix made up of Acanthite crystals, Native Silver in wires, Sphalerite, Pyrite and Fluorite. If that list is not long enough to clog a label, there are other dark sulfides one of which may be Stephanite but have not been confirmed. A super example of the Rhodo from this find and the association with Silver minerals is very special. Really attractive overall and one of the best I have seen for the relation to Silver.
