Euclase - gemmy crystals
stock #7.AE-405
Piaotang Mine, Xihuashan Intrusion, Dayu County, Ganzhou Prefecture
Jiangxi Province, China
6.8 x 3.8 x 2.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $1200
Fall 22

An exceptional Euclase from Piaotang (China) from the one time find in 2007. In excellent condition, no naked eye visible damage. The crystals are up to 1.4 CM though most are 1 CM or smaller. These are all water clear, gemmy, well-striated and very sharp. There is a silvery sheen reflected from lustrous faces much like an Apophyllite. The habit of the crystals is similar to older Brazilian specimens, but they are also distinctly different on close exam. This specimen is from Dr Marcus Lueg collection and stands as one of the very best of the find.

Euclase - included by Schorl
stock #22.1-305-(YL)
Alto de Giz Pegmatite, Equador, Borborema mineral province
Minas Gerais, Brazil
2.8 x 2.1 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $1100
Post Tucson 2022

An unusual Euclase with dense inclusions of dark Schorl needles, something I have never seen before. The Euclase crystal itself is well-formed, uncleaved on the edges and fairly lustrous. This crystal also has a faint blue "racing stripe" or color zone that is running along the "C" axis of the prism which adds extra eye appeal. This crystal comes with a custom made Acrylic base that displays this at the perfect angle. In person this is a rather dull or dark without good illumination. With a backlight however this really comes alive and the bright blue zone is pronounced. Really unusual for the specie and a very choice thumbnail.

Euclase -blue crystals with Quartz
stock #13.1-288
Lost Hope Mine, Mwami, Karol District
Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe
5.2 x 3.7 x 2.7 CM (small cabinet/large miniature)
price: $950

A sizable cluster of Euclase crystals and sections of crystals on a nearly pure Euclase matrix. The color ranges from a light blue to a deep inky blue and the scattered Quartz crystals add a contrast. From the Lost Hope mine of Zimbabwe, this was found more than 40 years ago. The largest crystal is 2.6 CM in size but it must be noted it is closely encased in the matrix with only a few faces showing, and the better display angles do not present the best color zones. This is a sizable mass of Euclase with some gemmy areas and some nice striations on the larger faces, although the edges do have lots of cleavages and rough zones. Relatively affordable, the photos to me look a little bit better than the specimen in person but they are real with no photoshop tricks. A good value for this often very costly gem mineral.

SOLD - colorless gem crystal
stock #SOLD 8-AE-791
Conselheiro Pena, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3 x 1.6 x .7 (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $0
Pre Holiday 2017

A perfectly clear, well terminated and sharp Euclase crystal. The faces show fine striations and the top shows a dual tip termination that is unique in our experience. If this was a blue Euclase with this clarity and sizeit would be valued in the 5 figures, but as it is colorless that is clearly not the case! An excellent example that is larger than most from this area of Brazil.

Euclase
stock #8.1-219
Piaotang, Dayu
Yunnan Province, China
4.5 x 3.9 CM (miniature)
price: $600

Sharp and glassy Euclase on matrix to 1.4 CM. A great example from this small one time find. These were the best Chinese examples of this rare Berylium gem mineral. The crystals have some micro cavities on a few faces with unknown black materials inside. Good condition in general, there are broken and damaged crystals on the edges and back the display side looks fine to the unaided eye.
