Fluorite - classic English
stock #7.AE-114
Hilton Mine, Scordale, Hilton Escarpment District, Murton, Eden
Cumbria, England
9.8 x 7.8 x 3.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $520

A plate of bright honey-yellow Fluorites from the famed Hilton Mine. The crystals reach over 2 CM in diameter though most are smaller, and all have good sharp edges. As is typical for English Fluorites from this region this is vividly fluorescent. The Fluorites are translucent to transparent on the edges though a few have a milky core area. The luster is slightly satin on some faces but others faces are more glassy. Overall in very good condition, a nice classic English specimen

Fluorite
stock #15.1-529
Hilton Mine, Scordale, Hilton Escarpment District, Murton, Eden
Cumbria, England
5.6 x 4.1 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $220
May 2015

A classic English Hinton Fluorite that shows the nice yellow color, glass clear crystals and has a nice contrast with the matrix of smaller Fluorites. In very good condition as seen and a piece that can be shown from several angles. These have gotten much harder to find in decent quality.

HOLD Barite with Calcite included by Hematite
stock #HOLD AX-2-029
Frizington, West Cumberland Iron Field
Cumbria, England
8.8 x 6.3 x 5.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1200

Even if you have seen a lot of great classic English Barites, this one is something special! The Barite blades are sharp, glassy to 6 CM in size, with a pale blue-grey color and partly included by dark red hematite. Just that is enough for a fine collection, but what makes this exceptional is the bright gem clear Calcites that are also partly included by hematite encrusting selective faces of the Barite. Very esthetic, the main crystals are in perfect condition but some edge and base damage (from removal) is noted, it will not be noticed from most logical display angles.

HOLD Mimetite on Quartz (very fine crystals)
stock #HOLD 1168-JM-4185
Driggith Opencut, Caldbeck Fells, (Cumberland)
Cumbria, England
7.8 x 5.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1100

An exceptionally fine, classic Caldbeck Fells Mimetite with excellent pedigree. Ex. John Marshall, Lindsay Greenbank, and Richard Barstow. The deep green crystals could be mistaken for Pyromorphite (both species were found here and some looked identical) this is confirmed Mimetite. Pristine condition, great color and luster that is not like typical "Campylite". This shows both rounded and distinct, prismatic crystals free standing and in bunched clusters.

Mimetite var. Campylite (rare chain crystal)
stock #11.1-W04
Dry Gill Mine, Caldbeck Fells
Cumbria, England
4.1 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $380

A rare variation of the classic British Campylite from Dry Gill, this small, esthetic piece features a curved chain of Mimetite crystals. Lustrous and in excellent condition damage-wise, the chain has a central hollow canal running its length. The matrix also hosts small botryoidal crystals of yellow, green and orange Mimetite. A fine small miniature!
