Cerussite with Barite
stock #21.1-554
Mibladen Mining District, Midelt Province
Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
9.8 x 6.6 x 3.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $490
New Year 22

Large amounts of Cerussite from the finds at Mibladen Mine are easy to find on the mineral market. Despite the quantity, really fine quality is very scarce. This one has an excellent form, great contrast, and a main crystal that is both gemmy and very large at 4 CM across. The piece has the pink to red Barite blades mixed with two generations of Cerussites, which are a smokey yellow-brown hue. Glassy luster and good transparency are noted as are the geometric growth structures. At some angles the crystals seem to have been faceted. In great condition overall, there are some contacts and tiny rough spots not easily seen, for this famously delicate and sensitive mineral the condition is really impressive. More esthetic and well composed than 99.9 percent of these. This occurrence is already a modern classic, The profusion of average to good pieces has kept prices affordable and a very good value for nice Cerussites. The few pieces of this caliber do stand out and will certainly be much appreciated in the future. The strong yellow florescence is especially good on this.

Proustite - Ruby Silver crystals
stock #12.1-248
Imiter Mine, Imiter Mining Dist., Tinghir Province
Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5.7 x 3.8 x 2.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $3300
new year 2021

A fine and esthetic specimen of nearly pure dark red Proustite in distinct crystals. Proustite is a true mineral lover's specie, the most desirable and rare of the "Ruby Silvers". Good specimens are prized and great ones are very highly valued. This is an excellent piece very fine for the locality which is one of the small number of sources for great specimens worldwide. This displays well in several orientations, it is crystallized on nearly every surface. Incredible under magnification too, with good lighting the Proustite is a brilliant ruby red and translucent. In excellent condition damage-wise, which is also rare for this delicate mineral. Several different habits are present, some seem to be twinned and the smallest crystals are clustered in rosettes and balls, the larger crystals are more distinct and somewhat separated. Super choice.

Scorodite
stock #15.1-504
Oumil Mine, Bou Azzer, Ouarzazate
Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
5.3 x 4.4 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Worldwide mix summer

A good clean vug of densely packed Scorodite crystals from Bou Azzer. The crystals reach 6mm but most are smaller. The color is mostly green but a few blue-purple prisms are seen on some edges. From finds about 12 years ago, this is a very good representative specimen with good coverage.

Gersdorffite with Annabergite
stock #16.1-298
Alt Ahmane, Bou Azer, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
4.2 x 3.5 x 2.7 CM (miniature)
price: $760
Spring 2017

Gersdorffite in good or sizable crystals has been super rare until this one small discovery. This is a very fine piece and is the best example we have had from the world class 2014 Bou Azzer find. Sharp lustrous octahedra in a cluster with contrasting green Annabergite shows this Nickel specie well. A brittle mineral, this has some cracks and chipping on some crystals but overall is in exceptional condition. Sharp crystals to 2.3 CM is quite impressive for this specie.

Cobaltoan Calcite (scalenohedral and hollow crystals)
stock #12.1-254
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
6 x 4.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Spring 2014

A really esthetic example from the great find of 2012 which was the best in nearly 20 years. This find had many average pieces but very few that were fine. These are now unavailable in this quality and condition. Great color and fine form, these scalenohedral crystals are in some cases hoppered or hollowed cavernous spikes in a radiating cluster. Some damage is noted mostly on the outer edges, but the central main display area is pristine.

Erythrite- large free standing crystals on Quartz
stock #12.1-291
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
3.8 x 3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $675
Spring 2013

A sweet miniature with exceptional sharp free standing crystals. The crystals are up to about 3 CM tall most of which is aerial. No damage by naked eye on the display face which is incredible for such a delicate mineral. 10 x magnification finds some minor edge chips that are just not noticeable. the back of the matrix has been sawn in order to collect this without damage. Bou Azzer is unquestionably the worlds best locale for many Cobalt minerals and especially for Erythrite. This is far above average.
