Fluorite -Stacked cast with Barite
stock #17.1-169
Weishan Co, Dali Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
5.1 x 2.2 x 1.6 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $380
new june 17

Deep purple color Flourite cubes in a chain arrangement. From the recent find of stacked or stalactitic Fluorites which had originally formed over Stibnite crystals that no longer present. Some edges have an epitaxial coating of Barite that makes a nice contrast. In fine condition and very esthetic. This was a very small find and few had this intense color.

Hemimorphite - finger-like growth
stock #16.1-628
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
4.8 x 3.2 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $475
Spring 2017

An exceptionally esthetic botryoidal growth of Hemimorphite with a rich blue-green color. Looks a lot like a Smithsonite. This is in undamaged condition, has perfect wet-look luster and a coating of micro clear Hemimorphite crystals to add a little sparkle. Wenshan has become a world class producer of Hemimorphite but this habit is not at all typical, a very choice miniature.

Cassiterite on Quartz w. Chlorite
stock #8.1-086
Gaoligong Shan, Baoshan Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
4.7 x 4.5 x 3.5 CM (miniature)
price: $280
Spring 2017

A nice Cassiterite is perched atop a Quartz crystal matrix. Dark opaque black with good luster the condition is very good but there is some chipping on the front and contacts on the backside (not seen on display) From the unusual locale at Gaoligong Shan, a well-developed Cassiterite.

Wulfenite on Gibbsite (rare association)
stock #AX-15-053
Baoshan Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
7 x 5.5 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
Winter 2016-17

An attractive, delicate and rich color Gibbsite is host to dozens of sharp Wulfenite crystals. This is the only specimen of this rare association that I have ever seen. Ex. Shields Flynn collection which he obtained from Bert Ottens. In perfect condition, this would be a really fine Gibbsite even without the Wulfenites. Displays well from many angles. Choice!

Babingtonite
stock #A7-085-(1349)
Qiaojia County, Zhaotong Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
4.3 x 2.4 x 1.4 CM (miniature)
price: $320
pre Tucson 2015 update

Big, sharp, complete Babingtonite crystals with textbook form from the great Chinese find. Good crystals was rare before 2003, and not even known in crystals bigger than 2 CM. This example has a huge main crystal 4.2 CM long, very bright luster on most faces, almost no matrix and is undamaged. Such a specimen before 2003 would have been the world's best and priceless. Thanks to this find we have some outstanding pieces that are affordable for now.

Hemimorphite
stock #AX-19-151
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
9 x 7 x 5.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $230

A rich and very colorful example of the Hemimorphite from the earliest find at Wenshan. The form and condition are excellent and the more recent finds did not have this habit. Nice blue-green Hemimorphites from classic locales can be very expensive but the better Chinese specimens are often more attractive with much less cost.

Quartz included by Actinolite (Tessin)
stock #9-AE 1076
Wenshan County, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture
Yunnan Province, China
10.3 x 2.1 x 1.4CM (cabinet)
price: $460
Spring 2014

From a small find made 2002 this is one of the best single crystals recovered. Undamaged, sizable at over 10CM long, with excellent luster and translucence. The upper half of this shows a distinct Tessin habit but the lower half does not. Similar to some of the recent Himalayan quartz and the classic Greek included quartz, this has a noticeably different look and texture.

Beryl var. Emerald - vanadium rich
stock #4.2-387
Malipo, Wenshan
Yunnan Province, China
7.9 X 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $220

A quite sizable (7.9 CM) and impressive Chinese Emerald with the typical color from this find. This Beryl is not gemmy except on thin edges and not colored by Chromium as are the Colombian Emeralds. Despite that this is still attractive and affordable. The crystal has been repaired (1x) and shows also a natural break and re-healing. A very good addition to a suite of Beryl, Chinese minerals or just as an attractive display piece.
