Scorodite - classic British locality
stock #21.1-504
Hemerdon Mine, Plympton, Plymouth
Devon, England
7.3 x 5.6 x 4.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $420
Fall 22

Very fine gemmy Scorodite crystals in several vugs on a blocky Quartz matrix makes for an attractive cabinet display piece. From the Hemerdon Mine (Devon, England) this locality has produced some of the best Scorodite in Europe. This is a particularly rich piece. The area has a long history with intermittent mining operation since before 1854 but currently inactive. In very good condition the crystals were well-protected in the cavities of the matrix. Most of the Scorodites are a deep blue but a few do show a green color as well.

Allophane - historic, classic locale
stock #AX-35-050-(2695)
Tavistock, West Devon
Devon, England
6.5 x 5 x 1.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $380
new year 2021

A very nice, old (1895) English specimen with fine provenance. This is from the famed Wallace Gould Levison collection. His label on the specimen is intact and we will include a photocopy of the page from his collection ledger which indicates he received this from F L Smith on December 7th, 1895. The specimen has blue, green, white and yellow colored Allophane masses. This is every color I know of for Allophane, all on one specimen. Colorful small botryoidal and stalactitic masses best appreciated with good magnification. Allophane is not currently listed by Mindat from Tavistock but it is well-known from the West Devon area. This piece is very high quality. Outstanding historic and colorful UK specimen.

Langite
stock #15.1-531
Bedford United Mine, Tavistock Hamlets, Tavistock
Devon, England
4.3 x 4.1 x 1.9 CM (miniature)
price: $130
May 2015

A small, brilliant colored English Langite from the classic location of Tavistock. Bright sparkling crystals and a nice contrast to the matrix too. In fine condition there looks to be some Caledonite (not verified) intermixed in the Langites, but it could also be an unusual Brochantite which is more common from the locale.
