From the famed Tiger, Arizona locality (Mammoth-St Anthony Mine) This is a quite delicate and well-crystalized small miniature. Wulfenite from Tiger is not rare, it was even at one time used as an ore with hundreds of tons being crushed for Molybdenum. Tiger Wulfenites are known in many habits and often as sizable crystal masses of inter-grown blades. Small, perfect, transparent yellow-orange crystals like these are much less common, showing beveled edges and windowpane form. A nice addition to a Wulfenite suite, Arizona collection, or just for esthetic appreciation.

Wulfenite from the Rowley mine is instantly recognizable, very desirable and regarded as some of the most elegant in the world. This is a choice thumbnail with fine color, form and visual impact. From some angles the form looks like a butterfly with two main crystal wings on matrix. Some small bits of Mimetite contrast as well on the matrix. In exceptional condition, the crystals are the windowpane type and are impressive from all angles.

A Tiger Cerussite thumbnail with thick habit crystals and minimal matrix. The Cerussite has a light orange to yellow color, not the more typical white. There is chipping on the backside and one edge so not for perfectionists but still a nice thumbnail from the legendary Tiger. The chipping is shown on the last two photos. The largest crystal is 1.6 CM, terminated and has some translucence.

Bright, colorful and sparkling multi-specie specimen from the great Tiger (Mammoth-St.Anthony) of Arizona. Vivid red Vanadinites, sharp dark green to yellow-brown Mottramite and yellow Mimetite are the main components. Tiger Minerals are more or less legendary, the locality is unique in its complex mineralogy and beloved by many. This specimen looks nice on display but under magnification it is truly incredible.
Malachite with Chrysocolla

Pretty and very well-formed miniature with distinct balls of Malachite, some with overgrowths of Chrysocolla. From a recent and remarkable find at the Planet Mine (Arizona, USA) these are rather different from any other USA Malachites, and have made big news in collecting circles. In fine condition as seen, this was selected for the color and sharp definition of the balls, well above average quality. This mine is already well-known for its Chalcanthite crystals that form rapidly as post mining deposits. These Malachite/Chrysocolla specimens are found in a different area and have been well-received by collectors. Good value for quality.

A large matrix hosts several vugs and seams of rich blue Cyanotrichite crystals. The Cyanos are mixed with sparkling Quartz crystals, so the specimen has a bright luster as well. Best appreciated with magnification, the specimen is a nice example of the specie.

Fluorite octahedrons in a cluster from a seldom seen Arizona locality. The largest crystal is 2.4 CM diagonal and all the crystals show a whitish frosting on mint-green faces. There is at least one old repair on the specimen which keeps the cost down, but overall it still looks nice. The mine closed in 1944, and this is an unusually large and sharp example for the locality from what I have seen. The frosted crystals still show good green color, many examples from this mine were fully overgrown with white Quartz and few had much color. The Fluorite is long wave fluorescent.

Free standing Wulfenite crystals with complex forms on a yellow-orange mass of tiny Mimetite clusters and balls. From the legendary Tiger area, these long closed mines are one of the most revered mineral localities in the USA. An older specimen from the L. Sweetman collection with handwritten label. Some damage and edge roughness exists so not for perfectionists but the main crystal is in fairly good condition and is a nice example of this habit. At one time Wulfenite was mined as a molybdenum ore here, the only place in the world where this was done. Tons were crushed and very little survived.
