7.3 x 5.9 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)

A fine classic Epidote from Green Monster that was collected by Ed Over, formerly in the Warren Johansson collection. From the legendary find by Over more than 70 years ago, this has fine doubly terminated Epidote crystals over 4 CM in size. Nicely sprinkled with Quartz crystals some of which have green Epidote inclusions. In excellent condition, a very choice specimen that is more impressive in person.

Mimetite - gemmy acicular crystals
stock #7.AE-334
Pingtouling Mine, Liannan, Sanjiang
Guangdong Province, China
6.5 x 4.4 x 2.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $460
Winter 2016-17

From the now classic finds over a decade ago, this is a bright yellow mass of Mimetite crystals on a solid Gossan matrix. An early piece(vintage 2002)that is not like most of the Pingtouling Mimetites, the crystals are more elongated and some are tapered. In fine condition there are crystals on all sides of the matrix but the side shown is by far the best display face. A choice piece from a closed locale, no longer available.

Boleite - large single crystal

Santa Rosalia (El Boleo), Boleo, Municipio de Mulege
Baja California, Mexico
.9 x .8 x .7 CM (thumbnail)
price: $575
Winter 2016-17

A big, sharp and complete Boleite crystal from finds in the early 70s. The diagonal measurement is 1.3 CM, with great color and in pristine condition, the photos pretty much show it well. It is now quite hard to find crystals with such sharp edges, bright luster and large size.

Pyromorphite
stock #16.1-170
Daoping Mine, Gongcheng County, Guilin Prefecture
Guangxi Province, China
7.4 x 3.9 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1475
Winter 2016-17

An strong impact display specimen undamaged and bright Pyromorphite from the earlier Daoping finds. This is the intense green Pyromorphite that looks like it is fluorescent. Only a few places ever produced fine crystallized Pyros with such strong color. Daoping had world class finds in 2000, 2002 and 2007. This piece is of that type, far better than average, it has dozens of lustrous sharp hoppered crystals that are undamaged.

SOLD Vesuvianite - hot pink cap

Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources, Estrie,
Quebec, Canada
2.1 x 1.6 x 1.1 CM (thumbnail)

An amazing color crystal from the golden years when the Jeffrey Mine was producing the world's best, and most colorful Vesuvianites. Electric purple-pink termination on a small but lustrous crystal. Contact and breakage on the back and underside but clean on the display side of the piece. This is one of the most rare and desirable colors. For anyone building a suite of Jeffrey Vesuvianites (in all imaginable colors) this intense piece is a must.

Smaller Fluorites and Quartz crystals form part of the matrix, the rest is a pale yellow scalenohedral Calcite. A gemmy sharp Beryl is growing from a cluster of older, darker etched crystals. Very nice composition and in good condition, this is an eye catching small Erongo specimen. The main Beryl also has some etching and wispy inclusions, best seen with magnification. Reasonable cost for an attractive gem crystal.
