Fizelyite w. Semseyite etc Type Locality
stock #16.1-668
Herja Mine, Chiuzbala , Baia Mare
Maramures, Romania
5.8 x 3.2 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $440
Pre Holiday 2017

An unusually fine, rich and even attractive specimen of well crystallized Fizelyite. A rare Silver and Lead sulfosalt that is most often a "black ugly", this specimen is quite appealing. This has very bright luster and sharp form, dense crystal coverage and is associated with some fans of Semsyite on a Sulphide matrix. From the old Finds at Herja / Baia Mare, Romania which is they type locality for the specie. Hard to fine in good specimens this is far above average for quality and condition.

Grossular- transparent gem crystals
stock #17.AL-481
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
4.2 x 2.6 x 2.3 CM (miniature)
price: $1350
Pre Holiday 2017

A killer miniature of absolutely transparent bright gem Grossular from the Jeffrey mine. When the mine was running, there were many different habits, colors and associations of Garnet found, usually in small zones that were never repeated. Over the years many habits have become especially desirable to collectors and this habit is one of them. This has rich red-orange color with good crystal separation, brilliant luster and impeccable transparency. Overall the arrangement of the Grossular is esthetic and the whole displays well from all sides. No damage, an esthetic example for the specie from the worlds greatest Grossular locale.

Quartz v. Amethyst -
stock #AX-32-053
Tamil Nadu, India
8 x 6.8 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $1500
Pre Holiday 2017

An incredibly formed Quartz- a "mushroom cap" style Amethyst on a contrasting matrix (this is not a scepter but more like an umbrella). In outstanding condition with great form and color, this is a very rare habit, I have only seen one other specimen. The Karur diggings have occasionally produced some exotic Quartz and this is a great example of "exotic". Below the fringe line of the cap a few tiny single crystals some sceptered protrude like little fingers. Complex parallel and stacked crystals in radial form join at the peak of the cap in a crude termination of sorts. Even the matrix is unusual, a mix of small crystals of Calcite, Quartz, Albite, Clinoclore etc that is much like some Alpine matrixes. A very special addition for any fine Quartz suite.

Quartz v. Amethyst -Flower form
stock #17.1-294
Tamil Nadu, India
6.2 x 4.2 x 2.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $390
Pre Holiday 2017

A very esthetic and unique flowerform Amethyst from the amazing discoveries at Tamil Nadu. At the top of the starburst or flower this has single larger petal or crystal that is wider and flatter but is also hoppered, skeletal and loaded with interesting inclusions. Undamaged and complete (which is rare for this habit) and with the deepest possible purple color this is a striking display piece. We have been quite active gathering the best of this location and this is a standout.

Bunker Hill Mine, Kellogg, Coeur dAlene District, Shosone County
Idaho, United States
3.6 x 2.9 x 2.1 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))

Pre Holiday 2017

Brilliant yellow to light orange lustrous crystals of Pyromorphite from the famed Bunker Hill Mine. These are uncommon colors for Pyromorphite and this piece is in excellent condition. Several good display angles and with minimal matrix, this is a really nice small miniature from a classic, closed mine.

Dioptase on Calcite
stock #13.1-318
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
4.3 x 3.5 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $220

Deep green Dioptase crystals is selectively deposited on milky white Calcite rhombs in an attractive arrangement. The contrast is very distinctive and a classic Tsumeb habit. In fine condition, this is a choice yet affordable specimen from this iconic locale

Almandine -fine crystals on Schist
stock #17.1-019
Granatenkogel North Slope, Gaisberg Valley. Bergurgl, Gurgler Valley, Ot
Tyrol, Austria
6.7 x 5 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $220
Pre Holiday 2017

An esthetic, old Garnet specimen with crystals to 2.8 CM in impeccable condition. What sets this piece apart is the rich red color and translucency, which is far better than most. Well presented and exposed in a nice composition. As is often the case with these Austrian classics, there has been a thin layer of clear shellac or varnish applied which stabilized the often crumbly Schist matrix and adds a little luster to the garnets. This is now seen as an undesirable tactic but in the 19th century it was common. This can be removed with Acetone if desired but it is historicaly accurate to keep it as well.

Pyromorphite - Arsenian classic habit
stock #17.1-475
Bunker Hill Mine, Kellogg, Coeur dAlene District, Shosone County
Idaho, United States
4 x 2.9 x 1.9 CM (miniature)
price: $600
Pre Holiday 2017

This is the wet-look luster that is most desirable from Bunker Hill and the melted type form of the Hexagonal crystals. An esthetic arrangement with well defined three dimensional form. The color is the distinctive bright orange best known from this locale. An American classic.
