A superb, delicate and bright mass of slender crystals of Erythrite in exceptional condition. Sharp elongate crystals in radiating masses and loose sprays are densely packed on matrix. Fluorite -Bicolored scepter
stock #16.1-642
Erongo Mountain, Karibib
Erongo Region,
Namibia
4 x 3.1 x 2.7 CM (miniature)
price: $450
Pre Holiday 2017
The Erongos sometimes produce impressive and very unusual Fluorites often in just a small single pocket find. A few years ago a find of loose green scepters, mostly very etched thumbnails made news. This specimen is similar but from a more recent small find. Less etched, larger, bicolored and on matrix, this has great esthetics. Formed of two crystals grown close together the tips are perfectly terminated in deep purple color but the stalks and base are bright green. Few were found, this example is especially choice.
Bright purplish-pink color dominates this small cabinet specimen with several spherical groups of Smithsonite crystals on a Sulphide matrix. In contrast there are several Cerussites some twinned and in fine condition as well. Most Tsumeb Cobaltoan Smithsonite is a rather pale pink color this is really deep strong color, electric and impressive.
A super fine gemmy group of Wulfenite crystals with several habits on a complex, altered matrix. The specimen has many micro crystals that are not identified and a small zone of the rare Leiteite. Highly lustrous and quite esthetic with a deep cognac color. In excellent condition, ex Charles Noll collection.
Pyromorphite- Arsenian type
stock #17.1-546
Bunker Hill Mine, Jersey Level, Kellogg, Coeur dAlene District, Shosone
Idaho,
United States
7.2 x 3.2 x 2.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $880
Pre Holiday 2017
An excellent Pyromorphite in fine condition from the now classic Bunker Hill mine. Excellent color with both bright yellow and orange zones. Two generations of crystals are present most with wet look luster. Sharp hexagonal barrel type crystals to nearly 2 CM are the first generation, some are hoppered but most have flat terminations. The last generation of sparkling micro crystals on top adds a nice touch. Better in person this can be displayed from almost any angle.
An old Italian specimen that is loaded with several well crystallized rarities. Included older labels have misidentified the Metastibnite as Kermesite which it does indeed look like. Aside from that, this hosts well developed crystals of Klebelsbergite in several forms, Peretaite, Sulphur, Stibnite, Valentinite and possibly Ottensite and Minyulite. A real treat under the microscope, but the largest metastibnite crystal is 2.8 CM and needs no magnification.
Apatite -CaF (Fluorapatite)
stock #8.1-458A
Cerro de Mercado, Victoria de Durango
Durango,
Mexico
4.9 x 3.5 x 3.2 CM (miniature)
price: $150
Pre Holiday 2017
An older Apatite from Cerro de Mercado that presents a fine 3.5 CM gemmy crystal well exposed on matrix. This locale was a prolific source of these Apatites although most were much less clear than this and few on matrix. Rich yellow-green (asparagus) color. A choice piece in good condition that looks better in person. One old rehealed break is seen in the main crystal. A nice example.
A very good matrix Garnet specimen with the classic style of Piedmont region Grossular. The crystals are sharp and translucent- a deep red when backlit but with normal lighting (as in these photos) typically look darker, almost black. In excellent condition a very good locality piece with bright luster.
