Brilliant gold color and luster with stacked flattened crystals of Octahedral habit. Very choice and esthetic example of the habit from the great finds at Round Mountain. 3.3 grams, in fine condition and with a strong display esthetic. Ex Larry White collection, this habit was much less typical at the mine, most pieces were wires, leaf or a combination, this is more substantial prismatic flat crystals.
A very sweet thumbnail of crystalline Calcite shot through with wire Silver. From Kongsberg, this piece was in the collections of Ernie Schlichter and Larry White. Classic habit from this classic locale, the specimen displays well from several angles. Excellent dark patina on the wires adds a good contrast to the white Calcite

Transparent cube, slightly elongated with beveled edges and light purple color. From the small digs at the Llamas site, this has both clear and lightly frosted faces, no damage but some contacts that can be seen through the cube from different angles. We are very impressed with the quality of these Fluorites, they are one of the best recent finds for the specie.

A superb example of the gem clear pink Apatites from the Xuebaoding mountain find of 2004. These Apatites are clustered in a chain nestled in a well crystalized vug of Muscovite. The edges of the specimen are also decorated with clusters of small clear Calcite crystals which are quite uncommon in this locale. We have handled several of these Apatites and this is one of the very best, the color and clarity are especially fine. Overall a very esthetic presentation, damage free and these Apatites are also vividly fluorescent.
Topaz- gemmy doubly terminated crystals
stock #18.1-235
Thomas Mountains

price: $240

Gem clear sharp Cognac color Topaz crystals from the prolific Thomas Mountains. This piece is much more clear than most we see from the locale and has the desirable light sherry or cognac color (depending on your preferences). Formerly in the Les Hitchings collection. A fine thumbnail in excellent condition and choice form, a Utah classic.
From an older European collection, these are well formed, fine Chalcopyrites with some complex Galena all dusted with Calcites. The original label lists this as from Rodna, but it is unlike any other example we have seen from the locale, and unlike any of the better known Romanian localities (Cavnic, Turt etc). As often happens with old collections we can not always fully trust the locality information, but if correct this is especially fine for the locality and a significant older Roumanian piece with character. Undamaged. The Chalcopyrites reach 2.6 CM and are textbook sharp.
Galena with Chalcopyrite and Dolomite

Bright silver color Galena in elongated cube form sits on a finger of matrix covered with small Dolomite and Chalcopyrite crystals. This is the sort of Galena that has made the Brushy Creek locality famous, with extra bright luster, attractive form and in fine undamaged condition. Any suite of lead minerals will have at least one good specimen. These are contemporary classics, still very affordable and unlike the look of Galena from any other area in the world.
Sphalerite- gem variety Cleiophane

Sharp and glasslike gem Sphalerite crystals contrast with the white matrix in an esthetic combination. The Sphalerites are a dark yellow-green best seen when under strong light. The luster is brilliant. From the Madan area of Bulgaria, this zone has produced some extraordinary Sphalerites (and Galenas as well) on occasion. This piece is from a few years ago out of one incredible pocket. Far better than typical specimen with fine 3 dimensional esthetics, there is no damage at all.
