An nice older Chinese specimen of the dark transparent Cassiterites from Ximeng that are now very uncommon. These lustrous crystals on contrasting matrix show both twinned and untwinned forms. This find was unlike any other Cassiterites found in China, being more similar to the best from Bolivia, yet still recognizably different.

SOLD Quartz with Epidote inclusions
stock #SOLD 20.1-104
Cisneros, Mun. de Buenaventura
Valle del Cauca, Colombia
5.4 x 5 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $0
Spring 2020

A stout Quartz crystal nested on and included by long crystals of dark green Epidote. The Quartz is a light milky green color but still transparent, the crystals of Epidote are clearly seen inside the Quartz. For ten years we have found occasional Quartz with Epidote from this region, but always badly damaged, still the potential looked exciting. This piece is from a new small find we were able to obtain in Colombia recently, these are by far the best specimens so far, this is a choice example. We hope for more in the future but that could be a long while!

Exceptional and super esthetic, the baby blue druse of clear Quartz crystals are richly colored by Shattuckite balls they have grown on and are included by. These contrast nicely with the bright green Malachite crystals. Looks even better in person, this from the find five years ago at Kaokoveld, nothing quite like this has come up since. A super display piece for any cabinet this Copper secondary specimen has top color, luster and form.

SOLD Pyrochroite- unusually large, sharp crystals
stock #SOLD AX-14-388
Kalahari Mn Fields
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
2 x 1.7 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $0
Spring 2020

A fine well crystalized example of this rare and usually unattractive specie. From the Scalisi collection, there are just not many of these in existence, this has large somewhat etched and crude crystals with a few tiny rough spots seen with magnification. With very strong (40X) magnification some very tiny Rhodochrosite rosettes and what seems to be Shigaite are spotted. The largest crystal is 1.6 CM across . The habit of this piece on one side looks like the type from Franklin NJ, but the other side looks from the Kalaharie Mn fields. Not a beautiful mineral to most people, but a good example and very hard to find
