Multi-specie thumbnail from Mont Saint-Hilaire with a small blocky habit Serandite perched on top. The Serandite has a good orange color and is nicely set on a rosette of Polylithonite. This is a late 1960's vintage specimen.

Amethyst scepter - older Korean

Zoned Amethyst scepter with a darker purple tip. The shaft is partly hidden from some angles but it is a darker smoky Quartz. From Eonyang in South Korea, Ex John Buckley collection which he had obtained from Pat Barker who once had spent some years living in and collecting the minerals of Korea. Minor chipping is noted that is almost impossible to see without magnification, This is in much better condition than typical. Just a hair too large to be a thumbnail, but could be trimmed to meet the standard if desired.

Cuprite with Native Copper

A complex mass of well-formed Cuprite octahedrons mixed with a few areas of Native Copper. There also appears to be a few tiny pseudomorphs of Copper after Cuprite best seen under magnification. With strong lighting the deep red of the Cuprites is easily seen but under subdued illumination the color is more brown to black. In excellent undamaged condition, the individual crystals are up to 8 mm though most are much smaller. A choice example from this well-known and venerable Cornish locality. Metallic bright Arsenopyrite crystals in clusters and rosettes are the matrix for a radiating spray of Hedenbergite crystals. In fine condition, this displays well from many angles. The Huanggang Mine has become the most prolific source of many diverse mineral species. This is an esthetic example of two of these species.

Brookite on Quartz

Several very sharp Brookite crystals up to 1.2 CM scattered on Quartz matrix. The Brookites are the mirror bright metallic black type. A classic older Magnet cove specimen in excellent condition, this is accompanied by a label from The Bradleys (Los Angeles, California) which dates this piece in their stock between 1952-1958. An even earlier collection number is pasted on the specimen back Most of the Quartz crystals on this are sharp and complete, unlike much Magnet Cove Quartz with Brookite which are highly etched.

A well-composed pink-red Rhodochrosite with both equant rhombohedral crystals and the flattened habit. In great undamaged condition, there are a few small Fluorites on the display face that are transparent light violet dodecahedral crystals. Very good luster for a Chinese Rhodo, this is a a wonderful esthetic specimen with a great visual pop in person.

Super choice miniature with a perfectly transparent main Apatite nicely perched on a jumble of small Quartz crystals. A few tiny Magnetite and Goethite bits are also scattered, but the focus is the beautiful yellow-green Apatite that is flawless and very impressive in person. This locale has produced many good pieces over the years but this is a standout for quality - a real gem in person.

A distinct vivid red Ruby on matrix from Tanzania. The specimen is repaired (re-attached to the matrix) but the Ruby is undamaged and doubly terminated. Moderately translucent, the form is more distinct and better exposed than most from this region. Vividly fluorescent, the repair helps keep the cost low. Ex John Buckley collection, his specimen number is painted on one edge but can be removed if desired.
