Sharp and vivid Elmwood Fluorite thumbnail in fine condition. The main cube shows the classic edge and corner growths of deeper color stepped crystal enrichment. The matrix is mostly massive Dolomite that forms the back of the specimen so the crystals are prominent from the display side. This quality is now much harder to find.

Fine rich red octahedrons of Spinel up to 2.4 CM across are well-exposed on contrasting white Calcite. The luster is quite bright and while the Spinel is not really transparent it is translucent and vividly fluorescent. These Tanzanian Spinels are in some cases an excellent alternative to more expensive examples from other locales. This piece shows very classic habit and the crystals have only a very slight hint of "melted" edges. Rounded or "melted" edges is typical of Spinel crystals as they get larger, this piece is notably sharper than typical.

Romanèchite is not normally a pretty or attractive specie but this find in 2020 produced a few very impressive examples. These look, to many people, like oranges on fingers. These do have a very distinctive form. Romanèchite is a somewhat rare Barium-rich manganese specie that is usually a thin coating or in a dark, dull botryoidal form. This specimen looks fine on all sides and has a memorable architecture. Something really different.

Gemmy clear Fluorite with a textbook perfect form of stepped stacked cubo-octahedral habit. From the amazing finds in Fujian Province, this is a choice example of the form, perched on a sparkling Quartz matrix. The Fluorite is 3.9 CM across and is absolutely transparent. In remarkable undamaged condition this is far more impressive in person. The Fluorite has some color change in different lighting and the luster is glass-like throughout.

Jackstraw type Cerussite crystals on a contrasting gossan and Quartz matrix. From the old Friedrichssegan Mine near the classic Bad Ems Nassau area, a nice example for the locality and in a form that is a bit unusual. Ex John Marshall collection, obtained in a trade with Ernie Schlichter in 1995. Labels and catalog card are included. This mine closed in 1913 and was long ago a source of some excellent Copper, Zinc and Lead species, especially Pyromorphites. Older labels show this locale as a part of the Bad Ems district but today changes put this a few meters over the line in the Rhein-Lahn district.

Exceptionally well-crystalized Ludlamite on a matrix of Siderite and Pyrite. The Ludlamite is in both prismatic crystals and in spherical rosette form balls. The largest ball is a textbook perfect crystal cluster perched at the top of the specimen. No damage and with bright luster, vivid color and excellent esthetics. From the recent find at Huanuni, (Bolivia), these have been big news in the mineral world as they have outstanding quality and form.
A very attractive and quite unusual habit from the Elmwood Mines. Small, bright gemmy Fluorites coat the matrix in a three dimensional rosette-like form. In excellent condition with super luster, this is very different from the typical Elmwood Fluorite and, in fact, is unusual in this form from anyplace. The matrix is said to be more Strontium rich Barite than Barium rich Celestite but both species can be found. From a famed world-class locality this is unusual and very eye-catching in person.

Vivid brightly colored inclusions of reds and yellows that are said to be Amphiboles. No formal analysis exists as far as we know but it is a logical conclusion. The esthetics of these better quartz from this older find is just amazing. The crystal is in fine condition as seen, the termination is complex, stepped with a different color more a yellow to greenish tint. Displays well from any side; this is an unusual and attractive Quartz unlike any other we have seen.
