Fluorite
stock #10.1-213
May Stone and Sand Quarry - Fort Wayne, Allen County
Indiana, United States
3.7 x 2.8 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $120
Post Tucson 2015

A cute, glass-clear Fluorite in a razor sharp cube nicely perched on its matrix. Almost colorless there is a light yellow hue in the crystal. From a find in the 1960 era, this could be trimmed to an excellent thumbnail if desired but I like it as is. No damage at all, a small contact on the back edge is not seen on display.

Adamite -with purple tips
stock #15.1-293
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
4.8 x 3.5 x 1.4 CM (miniature)
price: $390
Post Tucson 2015

A really esthetic zoned Adamite spray that goes from transparent yellow-green to intense red-purple at the terminations. In fine condition and with great color and luster, this is a nice addition to any Mexican suite. The spray is sizable at 2.4 CM and is well protected in a ledgelike vug. Choice.

Scheelite w. Goshenite & Pyrite
stock #15.1-097
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Pref.
Sichuan Province, China
8.1 x 6 x 2.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $700
Post Tucson 2015

An excellent and very weird Scheelite from the great Xuebaoding locale. Deep orange-red color Scheelite largest being 4.8 CM in elongated pseudo-octahedral crystals that also shows some selected etching that is almost never seen. The form is unusual and the matrix is even more odd, completely unlike other Xuebaoding specimens. Close exam shows small but typical flattened Goshenite Beryls and related minerals seen from this find. The Scheelite is quite clear and has gemmy areas. In 16 years I have only seen 2 specimens of this style.

Fluorite
stock #15.1-030
Elmwood Mine, Carthage
Tennessee, United States
5.5 x 3.7 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $425
Post Tucson 2015

An etched "Carthage corner" of pale purple to light yellow Fluorite. Complete and well-defined, the insides of the crystal are gem clear. This uncommon habit is especially distinct from the Elmwood Mine, and this piece is a very good example. Only one edge has a bruise that is not seen on display, otherwise this is in good condition. Better in person and at a very reasonable cost for one of these.

Erythrite
stock #10.1-465
Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region, Morocco
8.2 x 4.4 x 3.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $975
Post Tucson 2015

Top color and glassy luster in an esthetic fine specimen. From the worlds greatest find of Erythrites, some years ago at Shaft 1, Bou Azzer, this shows the quality that made these famous. The individual crystals are translucent to transparent, sharp contrast well with the matrix. Overall in perfect condition although with 10X magnification some tiny crystals show minor damage not seen by naked eye. For such a delicate mineral this is virtually perfect and very showy.

Grossular
stock #AX-30-028
Eden Mills Quarries, Lowell & Eden
Vermont, United States
3.7 x 2.9 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $700
Post Tucson 2015

A very attractive Garnet from the sought after classic "Eden Mills" quarries (Lowell). This Grossular has a relatively rare color, a rich reddish root-beer hue. Quite transparent and with glassy luster, you can easily see the yellow highlights inside the clear crystals. There is chipping as seen in the photos that is not very noticeable in person. Almost all specimens of this sort have some damage, this is far better than usual.

Grossular
stock #AX-30-031
Eden Mills Quarries, Lowell & Eden
Vermont, United States
6.1 x 5 x 2.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $780
Post Tucson 2015

A classic, showy specimen of excellent glassy Grossular nestled in a contrasting Calcite from the so called "Eden Mills" locale (Lowell) in Vermont. The Garnets are shiny, translucent and have good color. In fine condition, there are some very tiny contacts but no damage is noted even with 20X magnification. Great luster, this specimen was in several fine collections including Fr. Thomas Fitzpatrick's. Very few of these specimens come to market and are quite sought after.

Hematite
stock #AX-22-270
Ziller Valley, North Tyrol
Tyrol, Austria
6.6 x 3.9 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $270
Post Tucson 2015

An Alpine classic, sharp and lustrous rosettes of Hematite scattered on a matrix that is also covered with tiny Adularia crystals. Micros of Epidote are seen as well, the specimen is really all about the roses. Excellent luster and silvery black color this Tyrolian (Austria) piece looks just like a Swiss specimen.
