Quartz on Barite, Sugarbowl Pocket
stock #AX-19-020
Murray Mine
Nevada, United States
5.2 x 4 x 1.7 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $275

A sparkling bright "sugar-frosted" Barite from the famed (but small) Sugarbowl pocket found about 15 years ago. A very nice example with several good angles of display - the backside is cleaved but the front is in good shape. Already a classic find, these have disappeared from the market and there were never many of them.

Helvite (unusually sharp crystals) on Quartz. Ex George Loud
stock #AX-12-483
Lechang Mine, Lechang County, Shaoguan Prefecture
Guangdong Province, China
8.6 x 7.2 x 5.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $1500

An excellent, highly esthetic, sharp and lustrous specimen from the first great find of Helvite in China. The Leichang Mine produced several good to great Helvites in the 2002-3 era; later examples tended to be dull and small in size. This fine example with super sharp crystals to 2.2 CM was sold by Carter Rich in 2003 to George Loud who later sold it back to Carter, it went then to the William Hladysz collection. Old labels and collection cards are included with the piece. Overall in good condition despite the obvious delicate nature of the slender Quartz. Some broken Quartz crystal can be see at some angles and micro chips are on a few edges of the Helvite. Not distracting from display impact this is a very good value for an impressive specimen. Not for an ultra picky perfectionist, and not 5-7K!

Mimetite-fine gemmy crystals
stock #13.1-371
Pingtouling Mine, Liannan, Sanjiang
Guangdong Province, China
5 x 3.1 x2.5 CM (miniature)
price: $375

A fine and colorful piece from the great but short lived location at Pingtouling. Many collectors rank these Mimetites in the running for best of specie. Glassy sharp and clean of damage this displays well, has the most desirable orange color and is quite a good value.

Arsenopyrite pseudo after Pyrrhotite
stock #AX-10-741
Santa Eulalia, Aquiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
7.3 x 5.5 x 3.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $1650

An exceptional, elegant Pseudomorph ex. Ed Swoboda's fine collection of Pseudos. Likely mined pre 1970, there is nothing like this on the market. Tapered, curving crystals of the original Pyrrhotites formed a very esthetic cluster and reached to 5.3 CM long. The replacement by Arsenopyrite seems to be complete and has a brilliant sparkling luster. Minor associated Sulphides are seen but this is almost entirely Arsenopyrite/ Pyrrhotite. In great condition as seen, this displays well from all angles. A fine addition to any pseudo collection, Mexican or Sulphide suite.

Siderite pseudo after Calcite with Galena, Quartz
stock #0157-JM-4298
Turt Mine (Ghezuri Mine)
Maramures, Romania
8 x 6.6 x 4.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $600

A superb example of this very special find with a sharp, sparkling rhomb of Siderite (3.4 CM) perched perfectly on a mix of Quartz, Chalcopyrite, Galena etc. In perfect condition with nice architecture and contrast, this displays very well from every angle. Ex John Marshall collection, these were never common and have been very hard to find now for many years.

SOLD Mimetite
stock #SOLD 13.1-140
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5.4 x 3.7 x 2.4 cm (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $0

Very pretty "wet look" bright Mimetite from the late 2012 finds at Mapimi. When these were found everyone compared them to the legendary Mimetites of San Pedro de Coralitos from the 70's. Many considered these to have better form, color and luster. The largest and most perfect specimens sold quickly for huge sums and there have been none since. We have a few smaller, very nice pieces that will not break the bank and display very well. Nearly perfect this specimen has very minor damage that can only be seen with a careful in hand study. Great display impact for the size, this is a fraction of the price for a mediocre San Pedros piece yet has a lot more eye appeal.

Mimetite with Wulfenite
stock #13.1-143
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm (miniature)
price: $300

Very pretty "wet look" bright Mimetite and yellow Wulfenite crystals to 1 CM from the late 2012 finds at Mapimi. When these were found everyone compared them to the legendary Mimetites of San Pedro de Coralitos from the 70's. Many considered these to have better form, color and luster. The Wulfenites are an added bonus. The largest and most perfect specimens sold quickly for huge sums and there have been none since. Most pieceS had a lot of damage and few had good Wulfenites. We have a few smaller, very nice pieces that will not break the bank and display very well. This specimen has some damage that can be seen with a careful study, but is limited and far better than 90 percent. Fine display impact for the size, this is a fraction of the price for a mediocre San Pedros piece yet has a lot more eye appeal.

Thomsonite-Ca
stock #AX-6-071
Shakur Quarry - Nasik District
Maharashtra, India
9 x 7.5 x 4.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $780

A simple yet impressively esthetic Thomsonite with 2 perfect spheres of reddish-brown crystals reaching 4 CM across. Very 3 dimensional piece this displays super well from most any angle, there is no damage. We do not offer Indian zeolites unless they are something really special, this is an especially attractive, colorful piece and surprisingly pretty for what is usually a dull white mineral.
